2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

On the other side of things, the Knights haven’t won as many games as the Roosters did last year (15) since 2002 when we won 17, so it would have been a much more enjoyable season for him, I’d have thought.

And than Lance Thompson screwed us going back to back by blatantly kneeing Joey in the back - did he get suspended for that?

I think Robo promised Watson he would be 1st choice hooker & have him playing State of Origin 😳
Roosters don't promise players positions.

Watson left for less money because he thought they would push him harder, train him better, and give him the chance to win premierships.

“I wanted to challenge myself and part of that is the expectations and reputation of the Roosters.

“You have got to come here and you have got to perform and play well here and you have to leave it all out there."

That pretty much sums up his comments (from this article https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...s/news-story/376c2bf5fbb8fb37de23e3ad5eeac7cd)

He wasn't sold a bill of goods, he made a decision to go somewhere he thought would make him a better footy player. The disappointment is that our club didn't make him feel like we could give that to him.

Bet he is off to super league when his contract is up

If Dom decides to leave it may be complicated.

If it was for this year, Knights would have to either slap 500K++++++ onto the transfer fee alike the Broncos did. Or request a player trade like Joey Manu as replacement.

But that wont be the case. IF he does go, it'll be next season. This season he'll stay and score 30 tries and us fans will weep for everyone of them.
