2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Hethrington,
According to this we have almost signed him.
Or have we? Strangely worded article.

"Newcastle has reportedly won a four-club race to secure the services of Canterbury forward Jack Hetherington, with the Knights said to be readying themselves to offer the 25-year-old a three-year deal."

We should sign Greg Marzhew he isn’t getting game time at the titans and we could do with another metre eating winger.
Had the most tackle breaks in the NRL (59) before he got dropped, averages 150m also.

Farnworth apparently agreed to a one year extension with the Broncos and announcement to be made tomorrow according to Badel.

If he had the most tackle breaks in the NRL and averages 150m a game why did he get dropped .

Great deal, Klemmer and Jack front row

DSaf and JSaf can come off bench, right now DSaf NSW Cup!
As much as D-safs form has not been great he ran for a 130m on the wknd against the broncos who are going well. Our nsw cup forwards cant even crack a 100m in nsw cup let alone the nrl.

Talty does look like he might be next man up seems like a josh king type of prop to me. Still would not be dropping D-saf he seems to be slowly progressing back into form IMO.

Think of those not signed only Sasagi is likely, need to sign a half, two if Milford doesn’t stay, need Clune to revert to Reserve grade 7

Talty has been good the couple of times I’ve seen him, works hard, he can take Saulo/Sue position.
DSaf showed improvement, bench not reserves, minutes played depending on effort

Of the not signed.

Only Simi and Jirah to be resigned, Both so young and can develop into good players in my opinion.

I'd have J Johns over B Jones. Jones been super disappointing this year. Johns has more ball skill anyway.

Other then that It'd be interesting to know what our salary cap would be at for next year when only resigning those two.

If they cant secure Munster to partner Clifford AND dont secure Milf long term, then they need to use the $$ to chase a commanding half. I love Cliff but I can't see him running the team by himself, needs competent half next to him. Injury free brailey will be a huge asset to him and Pong.
