2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Payne Haas has asked for an immediate release from the Bronco's should we go after him .
If Broncs wanted to do a straight swap for Klemm I'd go for it - assuming Klemm and haas were OK with it.
We'd get a similar player, only 6 years younger

And 300k more. We could re-sign Klem for 700k after his contract ends at the end of next year.

Nailed on certainty to be wanting to go to the Roosters where all his off field misdemeanours will be covered up. Nothing but trouble and an ego that’s been demonstrated numerous times already in his short career.

Still very young. Worth a punt given what he produces. I know you believe he’s a massive stat padder. I believe he’s quite effective. His risk for me would be him obtaining a serious injury or not looking after himself physically.

Well that's almost a given at Newcastle

I don't think he is worth a punt at his asking price. Apparently wants 1mil for 2023 and 1.2mil for 2024.
He's not Nathan Cleary, he's a front rower.

Oh wow. Totally agree. I assumed he was cutting it rough on about 500k and wanted 800 or something.

Been in trouble with the law overseas and domestically and also got in a row with a teammate because his new shoes got stepped on. Comes across as a grade A you know what.

That’s just what the Broncos weren’t able to cover up so who knows what other dirty laundry he has already.

Not worth even thinking about bringing to the club.

We have both safs and klem.

We don't need Haas, especially not at his asking price. Thats far too much money to put in to another prop.

That sort of money should go to a spine player. We have kp hopefully move to 5/8 (I keep dreaming lol) and Hodgson supposed to be a gun fullback. Brailey at Hooker so that just leaves the 7.

I don't see Clifford becoming that game controlling 7. His best strength is his boot and running game. 5/8 for mine, but kp should be there.

Saw a list of Dolphins signings listing 1-17, three vacancies, 1, 7 & 9, we could do with same but are competing with them so even if quality it will be high cost,

OK, let’s be serious, team wise our biggest problem is spine or more precisely 6 & 7, if all fit then 1-5, 8-17 are ok to very good providing all are fit.
Top notch 6-7 are rare at this time which I believe is a result of favouring versatile players not specialising in a position or current 6-7 playing long time and young up and comers not fully developing.
Market for 6-7 very poor, not many options so what do we do.
Milford is a likely option, has shown ability in past and some form at Knights, early days.
Seriously players availability at 6-7 is poor so Milford is a top range half that is available with a few years in front of him and we should throw top dollar at him to stay on, if it stuffs up Bennett then that’s a plus
