It always shocks me to think about how long the Eels have stuck strong to Arthur. Like not hating, he's made the finals the last 3 years, but he's been there 8 seasons now, with a couple years out of the 8 and a wooden spoon thrown in there too looking at the stats. I think most clubs would have moved in a different direction by now having not jagged a comp yet in those 8 years. They'll definitely be wanting to get to that grand final pretty soon otherwise it could be trouble for him.
 
Not to mention the Arthur has had better luck with injuries over that time than pretty much any other coach I’ve ever seen.

All the continuity you could want, stacked roster, and yeah just routinely collapsing in a very similar way in the same week of the finals.

Funny thing is, coming so close to beating Penrith last year probably earned him another couple of years, even though the Panthers played terribly in that game and looked like shot sucks until they flipped a switch against Melbourne in the prelim.
 
Parramattas premiership window is closing fast they could win it this year. The Storm and Roosters have permanent windows and are always a chance, is it the coaches or salary cap magic?

Lol Panthers to get investigated for Salary cap rorting. I know they will have lost a lot of players over this year and next but I would be very surprised if they could afford Ponga.
 
Prediction I’d have never made for 2022 - I just came onto the forum to see the first two reported posts of the year and they had absolutely nothing to do with @cowboyman ! 😛😂

Taumalolo isn’t the clear best forward in the NRL anymore and even if he was, they still have the same problems: too many old guys, too many guys with poor defensive mobility, too many guys prone to very poor defensive and handling errors. As brilliant as he’s been, they were still a losing team over the last years of his prime, and now he’s showing clear signs of decline.

Everyone looks at their roster as being good on paper but held back by coaching, but they’ve been so bad for so long… maybe it isn’t actually that good on paper? Maybe a lot of their players aren’t terribly good?

I mean, some of them were good. They play for us now 😂

In short, if you’re tipping them above us, then you’re tipping us to finish no higher than 15th.

Sounds like the Cowboys were rated very highly by you on February 1st. Can be sarcastic all you like about the squad in the other thread but to even suggest the Cowboys had a similar if not higher quality talent then the Sharks at the start of the year is disproved right here.

Payten clear coach of the year with Demetriou and Cleary the other podium finishes.

A year is a long time in the NRL, one (Luki) has evidently stayed at the club and two (Clifford) is now being shopped around by your club and we have a clear upgrade in Dearden playing his position.

I’m just riding high on the massive compliment he’s paid me. Because I said in February that I thought the Cowboys roster had been overrated by many punters in previous years (including myself), this apparently “disproves” any notion that their roster might actually be one of the more talented ones going around after all. I honestly didn’t think he respected my opinion that much. 😂

2nd of February predictions review:

I'm claiming a 50% success rate, subject to the NRLW continuing their fine form and giving the Dragons a repeat serve next weekend...

And...well Dane did make the Qld squad - think I might just ignore the 'form from Souths' part 🤫

And...well...uummmm....Adam Clune did look serviceable in our first 3 games of the season:oops:

OK, I am going home now🙄
