That's exactly the team I'd have, except swap Houston and Costigan.
I know the Edwards lovers will hate me, but realistically with injuries, he'd probably play every game if fit.
And you'll ridicule me, but Gidley to lock when Buderus comes on.
It is going to be very interesting to see Bennett's rotations next year.
IMO, Buderus will be most effective starting so he can play the first 25-30min, and then the final 20min or so.
IMO, the way to maximise everyone's impact and have a balanced rotation is to bring Stig off the bench. Otherwise Hilder wont get many minutes, unless Gidley is off the field too long, or Buderus plays < 40min a game. Its under-utilizing 600 games of experience in order to give 80min to a half who has played a dozen or so games. You have the option of Playing Gids wider to give Hilder more minutes, but then you are taking minutes off experienced players like Taia, House and Tahu/Bench second rower.
7. Gidley
9. Buderus
13. Hilder
14. Stig
Two scenerios;
No. 1 (Gidley ~ 80min, Hilder ~ 65-70min, Buderus ~ 55-65min, Stig ~ 30-35min):
Buderus off after 45-50min, Gidley to Hooker, Stig to half.
Hilder off after 65-70min, Buderus to hooker, Gidley to Lock/Roving role.
No. 2 (Gidley ~ 80min, Hilder ~ 60min, Buderus ~ 50min, Stig ~ 50min):
Buderus off after 30min, Stig to half, Gidley to Hooker
Hilder off after 60min, Buderus to Hooker, Gidley to Lock/Roving role.
And then give Gidley breaks in the final 10min of games that have been decided at that point in order to manage his workload, but Im sure playing the first half an hour in the halves it shouldnt be too taxing.
