When Naiqama re-signed it said in the paper that he was told the centre position was his to lose, so he'll definitely be in there. I can't see Stig in NSW Cup.

Tuimavave is a certainty for first grade too. Bennett doesn't want Kaufusi at the club, so probably at his expense.

The only way I see Stig in NSW Cup is if we sign Buderus pushing Gids into the halves. Budsy has stated that he wants to be an 80min player which also leaves Hilder in the utility role...And yeh Tui above kafusi

Yeah the first-grade team is the hardest to name, noone really knows, you can guess the make up of the Centurions & NYC but there are alot of players in contention for that NRL 17. Guys like Wes, Tahu, Stig, Tuimavave, Kaufusi even Tetevano!

If you're predictions are right, Stig, Tuimavave, Wes & Tahu all being the team, do you think this is plausible?

?

It's the only way really you can fit all 4 players in the team.

That's exactly the team I'd have, except swap Houston and Costigan.

I know the Edwards lovers will hate me, but realistically with injuries, he'd probably play every game if fit.

And you'll ridicule me, but Gidley to lock when Buderus comes on.

Edwards in the team and Tahu 18th man
Don't you think Tahu offers so much more off the bench though? The ability to cover wing, centre, fullback in the case of injuries, and as a second rower along the lines of what Lulia has been doing for us.Edwards as a specialist second rower on the bench is not as useful, particularly as Hilder, Taia and Costigan are all more than capable of playing eighty minutes. And going by Bennett's previous form, he will definitely take advantage of that fact.If Edwards is on the bench, what happens if an outside back goes down? The whole team would have to reshuffle, rather than a simple one-on-one replacement.

Wouldn't that be what Gidley would be used for though??? In a normal game Buderus would replace Stig with Gids going to half. But then if there is an injury to anyone in the backline Gidley can pretty much cover that. Although if its a wing then Boyd to wing Gids to FB.
IMO Edwards would be used as a FRF/Lock

It is going to be very interesting to see Bennett's rotations next year.

IMO, Buderus will be most effective starting so he can play the first 25-30min, and then the final 20min or so.

IMO, the way to maximise everyone's impact and have a balanced rotation is to bring Stig off the bench. Otherwise Hilder wont get many minutes, unless Gidley is off the field too long, or Buderus plays < 40min a game. Its under-utilizing 600 games of experience in order to give 80min to a half who has played a dozen or so games. You have the option of Playing Gids wider to give Hilder more minutes, but then you are taking minutes off experienced players like Taia, House and Tahu/Bench second rower.

7. Gidley

9. Buderus

13. Hilder

14. Stig

Two scenerios;

No. 1 (Gidley ~ 80min, Hilder ~ 65-70min, Buderus ~ 55-65min, Stig ~ 30-35min):

Buderus off after 45-50min, Gidley to Hooker, Stig to half.

Hilder off after 65-70min, Buderus to hooker, Gidley to Lock/Roving role.

No. 2 (Gidley ~ 80min, Hilder ~ 60min, Buderus ~ 50min, Stig ~ 50min):

Buderus off after 30min, Stig to half, Gidley to Hooker

Hilder off after 60min, Buderus to Hooker, Gidley to Lock/Roving role.

And then give Gidley breaks in the final 10min of games that have been decided at that point in order to manage his workload, but Im sure playing the first half an hour in the halves it shouldnt be too taxing.

Gee this rotations are so confusing. Imagine these players having to train in different positions every week? Even I would be confused. And when there are injuries..a whole re-shuffle will have to be made.

I can't see Bennett playing Stig on the bench.

Or

No 3. (Gidley 80min, Hilder 60 -80min, Buderus 50min, Stig 30min)

and Either

Buderus off after 50min, Gids to hooker and Stig to Half

or

Buderus off after 30, Gids to Hooker and Stig to Half

Stig off after 60, Buderus to hooker and Gids back to Half.

Hilder, if not playing the 80, can be covered by the bench backrower.

Mind you I don't see the why people see the need to have Gid's play the full 80. No reason he cant play the first 70 and come off the last 10 or play 55 come off for 10 and then back for the last 15.

Seems silly playing Gidley in 3 different positions too.

Added after 2 minutes:

He plays Kyle Stanely off the bench. Playing Stig off the bench wouldnt be much different that game plan.
