I know what your saying. However 2012 is explainable. 1. We played without our best player, our halfback and our captain. 2. It took untill round 20 before we pulled it together. Not even Bennett himself imaged things would happen the way they did. Last year we got seriously unlucky.

2013. If you add Gids, Scott and Smith to our end of season form, plus the new found depth in our younger talent. I just can't see which four teams are gona do a better job.

Top 8 is GUARANTEED! Surely.

I expect a top 4 finish. I won't toot my horn on expecting a premiership but basically a good ****ing season. That is all.

I am definitely not wishing it upon us but who is to say that something like that doesnt happen again this year
 
Just competing in every match is what I want to see.

Going to be very interested to see where a few players fit in, but imparticular Waltzing and Tyrone.

Would love to see Gidley being groomed as a hooker, only thing is you start him in the halves and bring on Tyrone to give Bedsy a spell with him going to 7 and Buderus to 9, ruins the momentum....... And you can't bench the Captain even if NSW tried too!

Most of the pro's put as top 4 and even a few as winning it this year Jekk.

At the end of the day as a ten year follower of league seriously I'd consider my oppinion to be just as valid as the Matty Johns and Greg Alexanders out there!

Not that he is a pro but im predicting buzz to put us at around 14th!

For me though id say im expecting 5th to 6th anything else is a bonus.

Cows and Sharks too.
Top 4 would be an over achievement for mine.

I'd like to see us win a finals game.
That's only happened once in the last ten years (our best game since 2001 GF though).

It would be nice to see some members of the squad take the next step under Bennett.
I had high hopes for that this year but he shipped most of them out.
 
Yeah, I don't really see our squad as that strong for next year. We have our areas of strength, but props and halves are still a worry.

I think we should make the eight ... and hopefully win a finals match.

Don't see us getting close to a premiership until 2015.

Massive LOL at Cowboys and Sharks having better teams on paper. Have you seen our team on paper?
 
Cowboys only have better props and a better halfback, we got them covered everywhere else. And the only good thing about the Sharks is Gallen, Lewis and Carney.
 
Lets be real here Mullen is a better 6 than Carney. Well based on the last two seasons I know who Id prefer.. Then Gids at 7. It was only last year that we had comments suggesting a Gidley/Mullen haves combo for NSW. Im not saying I would choose that combo but at least we know it has a likely potential to be held in that regard.

Snowden, Buderus, Mason... If Snowden is in form I can't actually say that there is a better front row than that

Our backline features the best ball runner in the world for the last 4 years in Uate. And Boyd who leads the world in try assists in fullback..
 
I really reckon our starting side is one of the best in the NRL. It may not have the EXTREMELY talented players like Thurston or Slater but overall, from 1-13 I definitely think we have one of the best all-round sides.
 
hahah yeah i remember that i think i got caught up in the hype as well, Also guys look at the recruiting the sharks have done! they have a great side

I know! Mullo's an honest toiler at best and until we get a dominant halfback outside of him or manufactor atleast a consistant one IE Ben Hornby we will struggle, I really think Tyrone is the best fit for that.

But I am sure Qld with Cronk/Thurston are shuddering at comming up against the vaunted Mullo/Ring Gidz combo!

Mullen had a pretty consistent year last year and could be a top tier 6 if he keeps it up, but he's done nothing to suggest he's better than Carney. Carney pretty much single handedly led Cronulls into 5th last season and is probably the best 5/8 in the comp when in form.

Snowden is one of the better props in the game when firing, but he doesn't have the consistency he once had so hopefully he's better next year. Mason was a great addition last season. His leadership he's shown on the field as well as the mentoring role has has on some of the players is really invaluable. Having said that, he doesn't quite make the metres the top tier props do. I think we may struggle in the metres department again. I'm just hoping we can find a gem or 2 somewhere in our system that do a good job for when Snowden/Mason come off. I'm really backing Sims to do that next year.

Our backline is definitely our biggest strength. It should win us a fair few games next year.

Hello all Newcastle fans, as you can see im a Cowboys supporter, long time reader on this forum as I grew up in the Hunter and have a soft spot for the Knights, thought i'd finally join and talk some footy.

Also Matty Bowen says hi aswell.

No doubt the Knights have a talented roster mate but I think you are going a little over the top with how good some of them actually are. I remember seeing a similar thing on this site 12 months ago from members on here and look how that turned out.

Always good to be positive and upbeat but to think they are definates for top 4 etc is a little crazy to say the least.
