Glad someone else remembered. Yeah a player sitting on the ground totally vulnerable and I remember thinking that you could see him wait for a beat and think about it before coming down on the bloke from above to bend his neck. Very premeditated and gross.
 
The annoying thing with Barnett is he has been in first grade for about 5 years now, he should know the balance between aggression and stupidity by now.

As others have said he really is a bench middle in the side going forward as he has been for the first two weeks. I expect Adzy will have a tough discussion with him in the coming weeks and let him know if he wants to be an nrl player at the knights, he needs to get the rubbish out of his game.

Good, I like Jones and the energy he brings to the squad.

I'm not stuck on having Mitch in the starting side. If he is a benchy so be it and it's good for the squad to have that competition.

Mitch is never going to be a ball playing lock that we need, he would have worked there prior to this year but not now.

Just saying some of the comments made are a bit much.
 
He stands out because otherwise the side is so disciplined. That’s been a feature of Adzy’s coaching since he got here.

What some people aren't disclosing is that they've been waiting for Barnett to give them an opportunity to call for his sacking. Because some people view what was allegedly said to Peachy as being a crime and being appropriately punishable using his career and livelihood. They'd take pleasure in knowing that Mitch and his family suffer in perpetuity because Mitch probably said some disgusting **** to another person on a footy field.

Sick puritans if you ask me. No ability for reasoned justice. Just a tunnel vision for the things they hate.
 
Don’t agree with most of that but a few do seem to be revelling in what happened yesterday to grind an axe for a long held grudge against the bloke.

Disliking him because he's been liable to do stupid things which costs the team ... makes us virtue signallers according to miserable dude. 🙄

Just don't think he has much of a role for us in the current game, seems AOB agrees given he's gone back to the bench, and his brain explosions make him a liability in my eyes. Certainly cost us yesterday which yes does make me angry.

Absolutely nailed it there mate. Nothing more sick and disgusting than someone who hates racism. Nothing is as bad as that, not even racism.

Every single person does this. The difference is why you hold the grudge, what it’s based on. Yes there’s a lot of dislike of Barnett.

The amount of it out there doesn’t hold a candle to the derangement around Kalyn Ponga though. The Ponga stuff is about what he gets paid, the fact that seems to be looking for the best option for personal career advancement (a thing which is very normal to do in any field), it’s around him being “soft” because the coaching staff holds him back when injured, and even bizarre psycho **** like not liking the way he smiles, the way he acts around opposition players after games etc. Every time he misses a game you’d think he just got caught on camera raping a penguin the way people carry on.

The Barnett stuff is around what is now a pretty fair rap sheet of dog shots, a predeliction for poor errors and dumb penalties and, oh yeah, the fact he probably snarled the words “black ****” in an indigenous player’s ear.

Feel free to judge for yourself which player is more worthy of a lot of criticism and scrutiny. I know where I stand on it and I’m quite comfortable there.
 
It blows my mind that some here are still hysterical over him being racist when it’s unproven.
In the past on this forum, there’s been speculation over players outside of footy and it’s been taken down because there’s been no proof and the forum doesn’t want the heat of a defamation case on it’s head. Now here we are painting a guy as racist all over the forum, even though it hasn’t been proven, but it’s ok because it’s in the name of anti racism?
That’ll do me, that’s my last post on the subject
 
It’s not off-field speculation. It happened on the field. Peachey got up and reported it straight away. It’s not defamation to say that you believe Peachey told the truth. Gee a lot of people on here have clearly never actually studied any law at all with the ease with how often they throw out “innocent till proven guilty” and “defamation”.
 
In the past 5 years we've had Melbourne players caught out by social media on the bags, scrapping with people in Bali etc and yet all of them seem to still be in first grade.

Barnett has a brain fade and people want him sacked and never to play the game again.

I think going forward he's a bench prop at best, but we've got guys running around in the NRL who have done far worse than an (admittedly VERY idiotic) elbow, Lodge is the name that springs to mind and everyone wanted him here last season.

Good grief I would have given up supporting the club if we'd signed Lodge.
 
Yeah if Lodge arrived here I would stop supporting the team. Still angry at the loss not because it was a loss but because we looked better the longer the game went by...
