Elliot, Thompson, Croker like seriously it’s much easier to look good playing for the Storm than it is the Knights mate. King was average at best here and he still is now, his job is just a lot easier.Come to think of it if we could have got him to the level he is now. He would walk into our team as starting lock now. Who is in front of him?
That all I meant now , high hopes for Thompson & Croker . I think the will be better then King . Check the stats for the Safs v King at the end of the seasonWhen Welch and NAS were off the field the other night, Melbourne were just barely hanging on. Every time it looked like Melbourne were fading out of the game and the Eels were about to run over the top of them, that’s when one or both of them were subbed back on. Bellamy’s bench management is unmatched but it’s gonna be tough for those guys to keep carrying that middle all year (Eli Katoa is gonna be awesome for them on the edge obviously). If Welch or NAS gets injured and more is asked of King in terms of actually trying to impact the contest (yes I know he had a nice try assist, I’m talking about being a physical leader in the middle), I think we might see a little less fawning over him on here.
However, would be nice if we still had him right now given how horrible our depth is atm
Elliott , yet to seeElliot, Thompson, Croker like seriously it’s much easier to look good playing for the Storm than it is the Knights mate. King was average at best here and he still is now, his job is just a lot easier.
Gee i thought Melbourne lost a few forwards in the off season . Didn't say he was an international . As Harv said squad player / depth . We are chasing forwards now. Watch us sign someone worseElliot, Thompson, Croker like seriously it’s much easier to look good playing for the Storm than it is the Knights mate. Will make it deep!@Sarge Take a breath
Thank youI said for years that the Josh King who played reserve grade for us regularly made 160 metres and 30+ tackles in 60 to 80 minutes, while the Josh King who played firstgrade ran for 40 to 60 metres and made 20 tackles in 30 or 40 minutes.
With a lot of players you could explain that with fitness needed for NRL, but Josh was always fit. We just didn't give him the minutes and never passed him the ball.
Haha one plonker with a big motor recommending another.King is still a plonker, but Storm are happy to let him use his giant motor to be a plonker for 80 minutes and let their other middles play shorter minutes with more impact.
When he signed with Melbourne, the story going around was that Tim Glasby recommended they chase him, and I've got no doubt that Glasby knew how fit he was and how many minutes he could play - so they knew exactly what they were doing.
Gotta love English sports fans lolJust reading that the ESL player of the month for Feb is Tex Hoy, and the Hull FC fans have a new chant sung to the tune of the Tom Jones song Sex Bomb for Tex.
