Ex-Knights Watch

Donoughoe must have taken to firstgrade training like a duck to water.
They seem to have him down as a hooker. I'm sure he has the passing game and vision to pull that off, but he was a bit of a liability in defence at Flegg level, and that wasn't defending in the middle.
He must have improved his strength a lot if they think he can pull off defending in the middle, even for short minutes.
Good luck to him though. He has obviously worked his arse off since this time last year.
He’s always been super fit, has played touch at the highest level you can’t do that without a decent motor. He was coming back from a serious knee injury last year so started the season late. His defence is ok, he made 28 tackles without a miss in the Dolphins trial.

His passing game is as good as Ponga’s, like I said he’s superbly fit, can read the game, has a bit of pace & tough. Not sure what else the Knights wanted from him.

Maybe Ponga switching to 6 made him think his chances of making firsts was slim to nothing and Dolphins was an opportunity and money and still living the dream

I’m pretty sure the Knights didn’t even talk to him so leaving was the only option if he wanted to chase that dream.

I think the bigger issue is that the Knights bring in very average first graders like Gamble when they have kids with much better skill sets & a higher ceiling already in their system.

You’re probably right though the move could be the best thing for him & his career. Good luck to him he’s put the effort in & deserves a shot.

I think it’s his third now, which means there’s a 100% chance it’s one of the knees he’s already done before.

So far Fermor has always come back well from ACL I thought we might not have lost much when he left because he might come back from his injury and have lost his speed and step, but he came back good as new.

Studies have shown that in young athletes there’s something like a 25% chance of a second ACL injury within 2-3 years of returning to sport.

Haven't seen Momoisea for Parra yet. Disappointing for Him, but doesn't look like he was in the plan for decent minutes tonight, never got decent minutes for us either.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I’m not sure why we didn’t try to keep Mick Meany and play him on the wing. He would have sloted right into full back with all the Ponga injuries. I think dogs offered something we weren’t willing to pay?

There's Momoisea. and a head high. keeping consistent with a penalty a game.

Yeah Meaney was always destined for FG. I'm guessing we bought KP by then. He's done as well as expected, which was always going to be a strong FB. Good on him

Well he’s actually on the wing for Melbourne. I just don’t know why we didn’t keep at have at wing. F/B when Ponga was injured

Went to the dogs , got a bit of flak from their supporters . Good footballer , basically Melbournes mr fixit . Him and King different players . Prob both still be I reserve grade here !

Meaney is your stock standard reserve grade fullback that’s in a great system. Sadly I can’t see the Storm doing to well this year, decimated in the forwards and one too many injuries to key outside backs before a ball has been kicked. Mid table fodder for Melbourne and I can’t wait to see it.
