Ex-Knights Watch

Rugby league is a cruel game sometimes, but in a contact sport injuries are bound to take a toll at some stage. Jake was an exciting player to watch even in some dire times for the club. Wish him well in his retirement and recovery.

After the experience he had, his retirement is understandable.

Zac Hosking had a cracking game this week in 2nd row. Not sure what our coaches did not see in him, but he was good in a short time at Brisbane and now killing it at Penrith so far. Granted, he's surrounded by much greater talent, but would like to have seen what he could be in our first grade team.

The fact Brisbane let him go as well probably says it all, he is a do a job guy that's doing a job for Penrith. Its not a 'what are Newcastle doing letting him go' moment.

He always wanted to be a middle forward. I assume to be like his dad.
He played a few games at second row when we needed him to, but mostly he played middle.
Someone up in Brisbane decided he looked like a second row and got him training there, and turns out, he's pretty good at second row when he knows what he's doing.
It probably also helps that he gave up his fulltime job and is now a fully professional footballer.

James Gavet back playing NSW Cup for Warriors, 46 mins, 145m, 44 pcm, 4 tb, 18 tackles, 0 missed. NOt a bad first hit out for the old knight
