I see Noah Ryan had his first game of NSW cup as halfback for the Raiders. 35 fantasy points in 80 minutes. An odd stat, at 92% tackle efficency he was the most effective defender in the Raiders NSW cup side. Not bad for an averaged sized halfback in his first game of seniors.

Remember Jarrod Mullen?
The former Newcastle Knights pin-up boy and Blues Origin halfback went off the rails in 2017, copping a lengthy suspension for using the anabolic steroid drostanolone.
He then nearly died from a cocaine overdose the following year and pleaded guilty to drug trafficking in 2019 and received a community corrections order.
But Mullen, now aged 36, has turned his life around.
He is lecturing young kids about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse and is playing for Corrimal in the Illawarra competition.
I had a spy at a recent trial game and he reported that Mullen totally dominated despite playing against some players nearly half his age.
Nice to see a good redemption story and a guy putting back into the game after making bad choices a few years back.
