2024 - 2025 Summer of Cricket

England well on top. I'm going on Sunday but it might be pretty close to over by then. Have to ask yourself how this can be the same team that triumphed in India ...
The inconsistency of New Zealand at present is hard to comprehend. They played so well in India and then they have flopped at home. It’s not a lack of talent.

A very impressive bowling display by Mitchell Starc to take 6/48.

Australia did well to bat a full season under lights a only lose 1 wicket. Apart from Bumrah, the Indian bowlers were disappointing, They really let Australia off the hook.

If Australia can bat well tomorrow, they can take control of this test match.

Great day for us. We bowled well mostly but got a little sloppy towards the end. McSweeney and Marnus did a fantastic job. Hopefully they can both kick on tomorrow and we can build a match winning lead.

All the twists are in England’s favour (England currently are 237 runs ahead with 9 second innings wickets remaining).

@jamesgould : I hope your tickets were not too expensive.
Yeah the game was over after day one.

Not looking like good weather tomorrow so I'll just stay home. Happy to leave the Barmy Army and their endless annoying songs to it!

I’m watching the game now and it’s just a bat-athon for England to get as many runs as they want and then they will just have to bowl the Kiwis out.

He is so good a bowler that we try to find fault, Bumrah is probably the best in world at this time.
Game not quite Aust way, lead ok but this session will define the game, India score losing few wickets or we take a few.
Not a Head fan but he does know how to score and keeps the runs ticking over, getting to like him a bit more each time.

Head is effective, his counter attacking batting can change the course of a game. He was largely responsible for Australia finishing with a lead of 157.

Exceptional bowling performance by Australia. India struggling with the bat.

It has been a massive turnaround from Perth by Australia.

His elbow bends an amazing amount backwards as well. Between those he can get some real whip on the ball.
His elbow sort of hyperextends. It looks different, but it's completely legal. I heard Glenn McGrath and Stuart Clark on the radio on Friday and they were both adamant there was nothing illegal about his action.

Head is easily my favourite batsman in this current side, daylight second. Not sure how he could be disliked tbh.
Not disliked, just not a fan but am coming around to liking him, probably a throw back to his early selection and having other favourites like Smith etc. Head is the form Aussie bat
