2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

His running game is superb. In 3 games he's played since returning from injury he's scored a 60m solo try and had multiple line breaks leading to tries. His delivery is great being a 5/8 as well, crisp long balls. However he is the epitome of a utility. played 5/8, 7 and 13 in juniors. But that happens in juniors. 9 seems to be his maker though. He'll get a debut at home soon, maybe against roosters to freshen th side up as it was very high intensity game and Crossy was absolutely spent by fulltime. When he is picked, either Crossy or Mann are dropped, as we cant have two utilities on the bench.
sounds promising. How old is he? still a young fella or mid 20's fella late bloomer.

I think Bedsy was a half in the juniors and turned hooker.

Surely we aren’t thinking about throwing him into 1sts while Crossland and Mann are fit just use them better.
Nothing wrong with giving an in-form young guy a chance, particularly when the guys in first-grade are utilities themselves. If he can do a decent 20 minute stint off the bench, then you can start raising his minutes and maybe we'll find another first-grader.

Well then the young guy gets a big opportunity. Any one of Mann, Elliott or Gamble could help out if it really got that desperate. You can't be that cynical when it comes to giving a young guy a shot, every NRL player starts somewhere.
Depends whether the player is ready or is being thrown in too early. I'd trust the trainers know when the right time is. But for those suggesting that Mann/Crossland/whoever should make way for a younger player now, that's likely a big factor why they'll persist with rotating first grade utilities for now rather than bring a very green (but specialist) player at the position.

Happy with this but it's pretty astounding that the screens would be government funded. There are a zillion other things taxpayer funds should be spent on.
Roosters got a brand new stadium with zero extra capacity when the old one was absolutely fine. Gladys at her best.

I think the screens will be a good touch and will ensure other big games like the Wallabies can keep coming to town and supporting the local economy.

My comments earlier were more to give Crossy a break for one week after a hectic game
And let Riley Debut at home infront of family. Not saying drop Crossy at all I’ve actually been impressed with him.

Other home games that will probably suit better (if at all) and agree AOB needs to give Crossy a breather for 10mins in 2nd half to let him finish the game fresher.

We can’t, well we shouldn’t but our coach will have a conniption if he has to relegate one.

when he arrived at Penrith they were weeks away from insolvency, they are now 2 time Premiers looking at their 4th GF in a row. Yeh probably just a coincidence
He left before they won anything. Not saying he didn’t play a role but his sociopathic and arrogant nature means he’ll always take more credit than he deserves.

Bailey Hodgson and Dane Aukafolau haven't been named in any side after the bye.

Tom Cant is named at centre in reserves.

Surely Bailey Hodgson will not be offered a new contract. He has basically just been a waste of a top 30 contract.

Fox league reporting roosters are looking to cut up to 10 players. In my opinion we must go for Jake Turpin
I wouldn't be touching anyone and helping them dig them out of their mess, they made their bed and they can lie in it.

Maybe it ends up they can't even register doms contract.
