2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Was just looking at the NSW cup teams to see if there were any forwards with decents NRL experience in there that would leave to get a crack somewhere else but didn't find much probably jazz tevanga was the only 1 that stood out not sure if he is coming back from injury or just not picked with the new coach but haven't looked at Qld cup yet

Eddie Blacker would do a job

Gagai
Best
Marzhew
Mapapalangi
Lucas

Tuala and Hunt off contract

Guess the questions are: 1. Is Momo better than Tuala and Hunt? and 2. Is there cap space to go after a guy who’s more of a genuine replacement for Young than Momo is?

Personally I’d be looking at Will Warbrick (off-contract) and Sunia Turuva (on contract for 2024, but back playing NSW Cup when Taylan May is back next season).

Both really good in yardage so far, for different reasons - Warbrick is a big bastard, Turuva is a bit more To’o like, small and elusive but really strong and with a really low centre of gravity.

Momo for me is the guy you settle for after missing out on difference-making prospects. Poor bugger. He gets passed around the comp like a bong.
