2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

is it just me, but i think Sitili Tupouniua is a trap, so its good we rejected that swap irrespective of his injury.

He reminds me of a player in the Melbourne Storm system, looks great because of their systems but once they leave they are terrible.

There is a reason the Roosters suggested Sitili as the trade and its not because of his ACL injury

We need to stick to our guns on the Butcher's or Wong

If the Roosters do plan to play Sualii at centre they will need a winger. Hopefully Knights play it smart and get a good back rower.

Besides the on going Dom saga everything is quiet on signings, aren’t we a couple short for this year, anyone know or heard rumours of possible signings or are we just going to upgrade a couple currently training
I'm also worried about 2024. We have a lot off contract and we haven't heard much about targets.
They'll probably wait till the off season again.

Brandon Smith after signing with Chhoks ?🤔No

Not sure when it was without looking it up, but whilst still with the storm Smith said that he wants to win a premiership in the rooster colours and also something about the drinking culture at the storm. Obviously they would of been pissed but can’t recall him being dropped or not selected because of it

We did hear that the club wanted a couple of experienced forwards, but nothing regarding who. I reckon Scott Sorensen was probably one of the two names.

A bit frustrating since he only ended up at Penrith as a late pre-season pickup after the Sharks let him walk and no one else wanted him. If he was with us the last two years you’d have to think he’d be an established first choice starter.

Now to get him it’d probably take a Lachie Miller-like offer of the kind of job security and salary he’s never had in his career before; applying pressure to let him go purely based on what a good opportunity it is (Dom is quite a nice get in return though).

why do you want him replaced or dropped? you put your best players on the field until you cant make the finals. doms in our top 17 its pretty simple. no club is goin to drop a bloke for signing elsewhere and our clubs no different.

"Hey boss I'm going to work for the competitor next year, they want me now and I'm keen to go"

"No stay here I'm sure you will be 100% committed to us and won't share any of our information with them, you are part of our family and always will be"

People seem to forget that the Dolphins and Dragons exist. They'll battle it out for the spoon this year. Both have terrible rosters.

I'm quietly confident we'll do better than the 'experts' think and be in the mix for the 8. The rest will depend on injuries and the football gods.

For the bottom 8 yes
