2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

I saw on facebook the Rorters have rejected our request fir one of the Egan brothers and they want Young released immediately with a transfer fee to be paid by them.
Not sure how useful a transfer fee would be to be honest. Who else is out there worth spending it on?

Need to dig the heels in, if the Roosters are that desperate for Young, it's Nat Butcher or no release. To push it even further pick Dom in reggies, he's still a work in progress and a confidence player, that may set him back for the rorters

Only option is swap for top line player that we need or stays until end of season, plays well it’s 1sts, sulks etc then it’s Cup, it’s time we benefitted rather than capitulate.
Likely outcome, we will let him go for small transfer fee, he plays semi‘s we get spoon

Think outside the box people. We've been presented an opportunity here (with the Chooks wanting to pay a transfer fee to get him now)... Knights just need to be smart about it!

As Rorters don’t want to do a player swap with us, then we are able to pay a transfer fee to sign a suitable player. We just need to find a good one from somewhere else.

Despite how realistic it is or not every single team in the NRL should be aiming for the grand final. In saying that we should be putting our best team possible on the park until that goal is no longer a possibility.

So dom can suck it up and play for us because he is our best option on the wing unless the roosters can give us someone that is going to improve our squad or at least not go backwards.

This might shock you, but a week and a half out from the season most competent teams are planning on trying to win some games by keeping their good players, not letting them go for some cash.
I didn’t say it was going to be easy, but there may be a player unhappy or under paid at his current club or maybe we could find a good English player.

Can be a good time to pick up someone who is unexpectedly dropped further down the pecking order than they thought through not being picked for round one.

Shock!!! Horror!!! Why didnt we get told about this earlier.😩
Guess we now have a couple of vacancies for players training and trialling, makes sense now the signings of Crosslands, helps fill the void.😩😩😩

Is that how it even works though? I thought transfer fees aren't counted on the cap, so assumably you can't use that to sign a player either. Wouldn't it just be money to the club, which is meaningless to us when it comes to winning games.
