2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

RTS rumors going back to Rooster picking up and knights never really explored this option, but happy to settle for Millar (forced to swap a young player). Really feels like this club doesn't look to build for the future but only trying to survive and fix short term problems now and all other clubs keep taking advantage of this.

Honestly management needs to be sacked - Peter Par joining was to stop this type of mismanagement and I still feel we still are on the slide.

How can the dolphins be predicted to finish higher then us and basically all experts have put a line through us and having the knight fight it out for the spoon.

Going to be a long season and bet OB getting the sack

If Flegler does end up with manly though could see us trying to pick up Morgan Boyle from them
Was interesting in the Knights HQ podcast to hear the only time before this that Barry McDermott had been in Australia for a little while, he stayed with David Boyle, who he knew through his playing days, and Millie and Morgan’s dad. So he’s got a few connections to the club, that’s for sure. 🤔

Well. That was morbid.

I think everyone misses the point that we have some wonderful juniors coming through and that was just 1 year of moderately dedicated pathways system. Could be even better this year.
I also fail to see how developing 18 yrold FB’s and recruiting young and physical gifted lads from England is a short fix.

To me going for RTS would be short term as he’s older and would cost so much you’d lose 3+ juniors over it.

also. Who gives a hoot what “experts” say. I only care what the lads do from round 1.

Would froth over getting Boyle.

Article that quotes Max Bradbury.
Says he wasn't pressured to go.
says his manager told him the Sharks were interested and their offer of a 3 year deal with a development contract for 2023 sounded like a great opportunity.
Doesn't rule out returning to the Knights who he'll always have a soft spot for.

Feel like anyone talking about anyone but the Dragons for the spoon has not looked at their roster, seriously that roster even before injuries is horrific.

Now they have a spine of Sloan, Mbye, Hunt and Liddell. Only Hunt is first grade quality.

Outside of Jayden Sua and Ben hunt the rest of their side would not make our best 17.

Agreed, hope I'm not wrong

They are probably a bit ahead of Dom though to be honest. Both played multiple seasons at Super League level now, making rep teams and doing good things at the top level. Dom was a complete rookie who couldn't even get a game.
I’d be surprised if both aren’t in rnd 1 team
