2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Souths are probably the least of our worries.
If I were Dom and an actual title contender made a competitive offer, i'd go for sure.
I don't think Souths are the best offer he'll get.

If he goes I would be pretty pissed off at the club and also at him for not showing any loyalty and sticking by the club that gave him his first crack at NRL.

Why would you be mad at a kid trying to do the best for himself?
The knights have been a joke for 20 years, id focus my anger at the people who have left them uncompetitive.
And the clubs are more than happy to kick players to the curb when they're no longer required (klem), loyalty is a two way street

I would be mad because he's a good player and I don't want him to go......but would be nice if he did remain loyal, he just seemed the type of kid.

Agree, the club is a joke and it's getting harder and harder to support.

Klem I don't mind that he's gone as he got a longer deal from it and we were able to sure up a more important position.

Club should offer Young contract for further 2+yrs and what ever amount is decided they should up this years if he signs extension, the difference between this years and new contract would be a bonus that other clubs can’t do

I think we should be able to talk Dom into extending for another year by giving him a big payrise for 2023.
Dom should be backing himself to be worth a million a year in 2025 if he keeps improving at the same rate, so only signing up for 1 extra year would be a good decision.
We'll probably have to give him 500k for 2023 and 2024 to keep him, and someone else will need to find 750k for 2024 to match the potential 2 years deal from us, because we have him signed and sealed for 2023 for less than 200k I imagine.

I’m not comfy about this in the slightest. Not. In. The. Slightest.

If it’s Sutton then I’m not to displeased by it. But one of our junior FB’s or wingers/centres, FRF/ 2RF. Ill be beyond pissed.

I love Dom but, a million a year? He’s a winger.

Agreed, but not at the loss of a Keeley, Sharpe, Armstrong, Bradbury, Bryan, Ferguson, Ve’ila, Maps. Others I can handle. As it is necessary to have Miller.

But I also find it ****fully petty from sharks wanting a 3rd string FB swapped. Just fill spot with a junior in your own damn system.
You'd have to think it's a young guy currently in our top 30 squad that they'd want as a swap...
