I agree, 300k seems way too low, that would make no sense for the Tigers to basically give him away. I would have thought we would pay somewhere around the 500k - 600k mark.

There is the rumor that Klemmer is going to the Tigers, so if that's true, then maybe its something like 300k for Brooks and they get Klemmer and we pay most of Klemmer's contract

eg:
we pay 300k Brooks and 500k Klemmer, total 800k and free up a roster spot
Tigers pay 800k Brooks and 200k Klemmer, total 1mil

The NRL also don't want any teams (players) commencing pre-season before Nov. 1; primarily due to player burn-out. Tigers already tried that recently & were chastised accordingly.
My take on why Nov. 1 is critical is so that we have all (especially new team members) on board for a whole pre-season training period. The failed season excuse list is always infinitely long but the common & possibly most annoying excuse is that "we didn't get a full pre-season in".
Should we be able lock in our 2023 team by Nov. 1 (brooks or another halfback included) then hopefully we can park at least that excuse for next year. That'll be one thing we've done better than this year, tick.

To me it sounds like everyone knows what's happening. I think klemmer swap for brooks is very likely. Sheens saying they want brooks is probably just to get us to chip in as much as possible otherwise brooks has had a year to say it's bogus. Also klemmer is confirmed to have checked out tiger town. I think tigers will probably make a big play for Moses and teddy. We are just waiting for the finer details before it gets out. No sauces tho, just a trust me bro

Brooks to the Knights is done. Was done over a month ago.
 
I'd say clubs have decided to sit on news till after the WC is over so the WC gets clear air.

Our club knows who our new assistant coach and training staff are, and usually they'd be getting that out there.
We clearly have signing news as well.

Anyway, Nov 1 it will be pretty hard to hide any new faces on the training field, so they'll tell us before then.
