The fact he couldn't even crack the Australian side at the end of last year pretty much says it all.

Best player in the world? Hmm ...

He did play for Australia though? The game he played they had a good win too.

Australia we're always going to stay loyal to Lockyer/Thurston, bit hard for him to get in the side.

Yeah, he played in their second string side when their spot in the final was already assured. Couldn't even get a bench-spot in their full strength side.

If he was the best in the world he'd have been in there.

Best in the world is a lot more than one good half a season anyway, it's about not repeatedly making a goose of yourself off the field, and maintaining the same high standard for years at a time.

The true best in the world as of last year, and still, is Thurston.

Apparently Todd Carney is linked to Souths forget were I saw this maybe NRL group on Facebook or some rugby league bloke tweeted it! I hope he doesn't come to us!!

Carney was never going to get picked in front of locky, thurston, smith or gids on the bench though

EDIT: I meant Cronk sorry

Cowboys could be smokeys too, NQL isn't as media exposed as the Sydney or even Gold Coast lifestyle.

He and Hayne were unworthy should have gone to Boyd and Soward. The media won them those awards through writing articles everyday on them.
Completely agree...Hayne and Carney's brilliance is often more media hype than reality. Both have enormous potential, but I think they are believing their own publicity. Why have the Roosters floundered all year and when Carney is out, they start to win games? If he's such a superstar, why aren't they missing him?

The same could be said about Thurston last year. He was quite bad to average all of last year at club level to the point that the Cowboys were playing better football without him. Doesn't stop him being considered a superstar.

His personal issues and form this year doesn't stop the fact that a lot of Roosters 2010 successful can be attributed to him. And he was a lot better all of 2010 then what most people are making out to be.

Rabbitohs, Tigers, Dragons, Broncos, Storm, Sharks, Panthers, Knights, Warriors, Eels & Bulldogs have all said they will not make a play for Todd.

so Seagles and Titans are the only two not to be mentioned on this forum so far...so one would assume if he is playing in Oz next year, it'll be at the Gold Coast. Gotta feel for Beau if that is the case. I cant see DCE and Foran being pushed aside. When does Prince's contract run out? perhaps Carney and Beau are the new halves for GC...though i suspect the GC lifestyle would not help Carney's causes.

just saw Catalans have ruled him out too...so...Titans or Union?
