Jeez Penrith are killing it in the recruitment drive! :brickwall:

On a serious note though, Newton does go allright in Super League. The NRL is a totally different game though.

When's the last time a player has come back from Super League (playing NRL before that) and killed it in the NRL.

Hardly ever, no real success stories.

Newton will be no different.

Danny Galea, Cameron Ciraldo, Clint Newton and Chris Armit. All crappy signings. I guess when Gus said that Leary screwed up the cap... he wasn't lying.

No thanks. He would want some decent coin and he isn't getting any younger. Add to the fact he has a major neck injury in the past, i don't think he he would be worth it. I would rather have Cuthbertson.

Ross is at a good age for a prop foward, a good prop is like a fine wine, always gets better with age!

Seriously though, wouldn't be a bad buy at all, but from what I can gather he is commanding a bit too much. Sorry Benny, unless your willing to play for 100 - 150k we don't need you, you can rot away at the Souths!

Humble's pretty much a cheaper version of Moltzen. Good signing, Robertson is a bit of a loss for Manly, but i guess he was getting on in age.

Yes i know that, i mean by playing style. Plus both have the flexibility of playing halves, hooker & backline. Humble could be as solid as Moltzen if he gets a solid run in FG though.

He goes from the best player in the competition to this. Dissapointing, but he has been nothing but a nuisance to the Roosters campaign this season, since he has left Anasta has led them to four straight victories. Don't think the Roosters have lost much with him going, Braith is a very worthy replacement in the 6 jersey.

I said it last year and I'll say it again - he wasn't that great last year, won the Dally M on the back of a good six week period and some emotional judges who were looking for a good story.

Added after 2 minutes:

He'll definitely go down as the weakest Dally M medal winner ever, as well.

Only 6 weeks? :/. He was great at the start of the season at fullback, faultless all through the back end of the season and in the finals series and never really put foot wrong around the middle part of the year despite the constant changing of Anasta and Pearce as his halves partner through the rep season and injury. He deserved the Dally M IMO, can't take that away from him, he had a fantastic season!

However your right, overrated by the media, not neccesarily the players fault though, just the way the media operates I guess.
