Josh Morris is supposed to re-sign with the Bulldogs soon.

Dan Hunt re-signed with the Dragons over the last few days.

Would be an unnecessary signing for the Knights provided De Gois is re-signed. Bennett would bring the best out of Ennis though.

Oh god I would love it if this came true. I like Isaac a lot but Ennis is one of the games best Hookers and I love the passion he plays with. I wouldn't bank on it though, happy enough to stay with Degois.

Ennis come from the Newcastle area as well didn't he? Would be a pulling factor.

The rumour that Bennett has all but signed a 3 year deal with Newcastle came from someone who called a talkback radio show. The same rumour says that if it's true Ennis and others will follow.

The source can barely be trusted but no point getting your hopes up.

Would feel very sorry for Rick Stone. Personally I don't think he has done a bad job for the Knights, he only had one season. Wouldn't hurt for him to be assistant coach to Bennett for a little longer though.

Very true, same caller rang Sky Radio in 2007 with a rumour that Jason Ryles was going to the Knights for 3 years!!!! ....... But the rumour Bennett has all but signed for the Knights has been making the rounds now since the Knights was reported in the DT to have throw there hat into the ring for him .... He just added Ennis to the rumour!!!!

If Bennett was to take over, I would hope that Stone would stick around to be the assistant coach, he still has so much to learn and could work really effectively under Wayne.

But, no point getting your hopes up. This is Newcastle.

im all for patience with coaches. why cant it be the players' fault for a ****ty season? how many matches have been lost because players just cant hold onto the ball?

remember, its not the Premier League where you are expected to win 7 of your first 6 matches straight up <.<

    What about Newcastle?

We have as much chance to get Wayne as to any other club. I'd personally love to see Rick Stone stick around to be assistant coach while Wayne be an influence on Stone. Would be a plus. Didn't someone say that Wayne likes the Knights?

I dont rate Ennis, he trys to dictate play out of dummyhalf to much with his kicking game and are usually poor decisions. does not make enough tackles for a hooker either.

The reality is mate, we simply don't have as good a chance as other clubs like Brisbane and South Sydney. Whilst I see Newcastle a more livable city than Brisbane and Sydney, others don't see it that way. The Big city's often seem more attractive than the smaller ones. Newcastle just isn't an attractive club for high profile players and coaches. However if Wayne made a move North of Sydney, I'd happily eat my words.

Ennis has got a very handy kicking game for a hooker, he could be used very well at the Knights. However, he often overplays his hand. Him and Isaac are very similar players IMO, only difference is that Isaac dosen't possess a kicking game like Ennis.

What does the big city offer Bennett? and other high profile coaches? Wayne himself has said he doesnt like the media in the big cities, and has been living in Wollongong, a long with the rest of the Dragons team.

Its attractive to young players because of the nightlife and sponsorship oppurtunities.
