Pythian played about half a season in our under 20s as a 19 year old and was looking really good and then he did his knee for the first time and took a year to rehab.
When he came back he trained the house down with the firstgrade squad and made firstgrade with just a handful of games behind him, and did his knee again.
He spent another long period in rehab and got sacked for THC use before he got back on the field, but I saw him at training and he looked amazingly fit.
In short, he only played a handful of games in about 3 years at the Knights because of 2 serious knee injuries.
He has played 35 games of Qld cup in the last 2 years, which is really the only serious senior footy he has ever managed to string together if you don't count playing for Lakes in the real NRL as an 18 year old.
He is an impressive athlete at training.
This year he has played 22 of a possible 26 games so far. I don't know if he was injured, suspended or dropped on form for the other 4.
If he is 100% fit, you don't find many minimum wage players who can play any position in the spine, is big enough to play second row, can defend like a hooker, can run the length of the field to score and has a great kicking game.
If Melbourne signed him i'd expect him to be the next big thing.
If no one signs him i'd assume his knee is still dodgy.
