Sadly it's that time, your team for 2020

Is there any reason Pythian can't be re-employed?
He has done the last 2 pre seasons with the Titans and couldn't get a top 30 spot, but he is going well at 5/8 for Burleigh and will play on grandfinal day against Newtown.

Pythian's done his time Paid the price for stupid decisions. Why not give him another go he has all the skills including a massive boot and when up to speed imo he would slide straight into the 5/8 spot … I like Lino and think he will do well there but I was a Pythian fan before and wouldn't mind seeing him back .

The NRL is always on about rehabilitating players and second chances. Pythian has paid the price and done the time , he hasn't done anything wrong since or we would have heard about it .
That to me seems like a rehabilitated player or a player on the mend anyway .

He had 15 minutes of first grade and blew a knee and got down for repeated miss behaviors, what is he 25-27 now or something?

No thanks.

Sure we have better kids more deserving of a developement squad.

Not saying what he did was a black listable offence yeah his done his time but unless his tearing it up, not worth the investment.

Phythian and Chris Randall are both 24 and came through the Lakes United system together.

Pythian played about half a season in our under 20s as a 19 year old and was looking really good and then he did his knee for the first time and took a year to rehab.
When he came back he trained the house down with the firstgrade squad and made firstgrade with just a handful of games behind him, and did his knee again.
He spent another long period in rehab and got sacked for THC use before he got back on the field, but I saw him at training and he looked amazingly fit.
In short, he only played a handful of games in about 3 years at the Knights because of 2 serious knee injuries.
He has played 35 games of Qld cup in the last 2 years, which is really the only serious senior footy he has ever managed to string together if you don't count playing for Lakes in the real NRL as an 18 year old.
He is an impressive athlete at training.
This year he has played 22 of a possible 26 games so far. I don't know if he was injured, suspended or dropped on form for the other 4.
If he is 100% fit, you don't find many minimum wage players who can play any position in the spine, is big enough to play second row, can defend like a hooker, can run the length of the field to score and has a great kicking game.
If Melbourne signed him i'd expect him to be the next big thing.
If no one signs him i'd assume his knee is still dodgy.

Think you have to murder someone to be blacklisted from the NRL these days or be on your 27th chance like Barba and Carney were. Or that Arana Tautuma guy or whatever his name was.

Wicks did his time and came back with another team, and I don't remember there being as big of a fuss, so if the same happens with Phythian (again with another team) it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world considering we have blokes like Lodge in the NRL.

Wicks did time in prison for a major crime.
Phythian smoked a joint - or maybe was just in the room when someone else did.
He wouldn't have even been sacked if Wests weren't trying to make a point when they took over.

Murder someone or go on rants on social media.

Pythian's a talent and if his knee is all good we should think about it at least . If I remember right he almost ran past everyone else to get a first grade spot last time .

Like I said happy his served his time as Billy says below people have done a 100 times worse and been welcome back with open arms, just don't see the point in bringing in a bloke who what kicked a 40/20 and blew his knee and his a history of injury at what 25-27, would rather work with what we've got or wait for someone cheap to come up in the offseason - not the club will be looking at him anyway.
