    No Sione?

What you have there is pretty close to a Round 1 team with what we know now. I'd predict Bradman Best, Star Toa, Hoy, Moimsea(spelling of that is woeful), Crossland, Sasulo and hopefully Fermour will all have played significant first grade come grand final day and will be pushing for a spot in the 17 come the last day of the year. I think some earmarked with talent may have missed the boat now, the likes of Andrews, Musgrave and Jones. Kiah Cooper and Zac Hosking may yet have a shot.

Oh, I think Chris Randall is underrated and worth a shot as well.

    SKD
    Watson
    Pearce
    Dan
    Brailey

    Glasby

    Don't know, Mann maybe?
    Jacob

I've gone pretty good predicting the young guys who will get a firstgrade off season for the last few years, so here goes.
Brayden Searle - halfback doing his first year at the club from Dubbo. He is improving every game and is now challenging Crossland in reserve grade and has only 1 under 20s off season behind him. He could improve a lot still.
Daniel Ticehurst - kiwi prop in under 20s who is as green as grass with heaps he needs to improve on, but he's as big as Klemmer and has the sort of presence on the field as Klemm has too. Like Momoisea was last year, only bigger and harder running.
Brandon Russell - lock or prop who was one of our best in under 20s last year but has been injured most of this year. He was picked in the Qld under 20s squad without playing a game this year, but wasn't fit to make the final side. Last week in about his 3rd game back he played lock for about 70 minutes and ran for over 200 metres, and has been picked for reserve grade this week. Reminds me of Tyrone Amey.
Ben Talty - big second rower who loves to score a try - a young Fitz.
Jaron Purcell - played 1 game of under 18s this year and has been injured ever since, but before that he played for NSW under 18s a year young, won us a grandfinal in under 16s and was man of the match for NSW under 16s. If the young lock or second row is fit by the pre season, he should get a run, at least before the Christmas break.

Yep, next year he might get a few runs in first grade of about 10 minutes a game!

And I still think the KP at 5/8 is a goer.

It didn't work out last year mostly due to the massive hype and pressure around KP and his move to 5/8. The media went batchit over it, and every question or focus on the club, every discussion was around how KP would go, then when the season kicked off it turned to how is he going, then how long is Brown going to keep him there without winning, then he must move him back.

Brown moved him back to take the pressure off him and the squad around that issue.

We need KP at 5/8 to have more involvement in attack, and to open up the right side. What Brown needs to be very careful of is the give it to KP mentality that permeates the side. Pearce needs to be the main playmaker as he should be, and KP needs to take advantage of his side when he can, nothing to stop them switching sides for a set play or an opportunity if it presents.

The Knights are far too predictable in attack with Pearce and Ponga on the same side and running the same tired old plays. Oppositions are learning Ponga's game and are stopping him, shutting him down more in attack on the left edge. Get him over to the right, open up that side and have two genuine attacking sides of the field.

KP was taking the ball waaaaay too flat when he was playing 5/8.
Our genius coach would need to change up the structure if he wants it to work.

The thing is we don't have a 6 for kp to learn off. Juniors always been a 7. Browny was always a 9 so it's hard for him to learn where to be to create opportunity. Yeah he might naturally have skill but he also needs to be taught a hell of a lot.

Maybe Reg Regan can be tempted to swap the double-pluggers for boots and hit the training paddock for a few sessions per week. A slab of KB Lager per session should be enough to get him interested.

I think that Ponga may be a 5/8 one day but not yet at the moment his game benefits from having that extra bit of room and the extra second or two that he gets at f/b.
He reads the game very well from f/b , when we signed him I said he should play 5/8 but I was wrong he should stay at f/b.
If we move him to 5/8 we would be weakening one position to strengthen another , we should either buy a 5/8 or leave Lino there for the rest of the season then let him have the entire pre season there . I think he has the talent to make a real go of it .

Buy a quality five eighth or stand still next year, like this year.

Watson is a #9, Lino a Cup player and Mann - for goodness sake who knows?
