It’s a really good pick up for the future he can learn a lot from people like Best and Gagai.

It’s good to have all these young centres that should blast onto the scene in the future I mean De Coursey at this point is just waiting for a drop of form or injury he is pushing first grade hard.

I’m really excited in the prospect that our centre pairing could be Best and De Coursey with Steve just behind in the future.
 
This is how I see our recruitment for 2026, if all reports are right we are 29/30 spots filled that's assuming the re-siging of Gags and Friz, plus Saul coming home. I honestly wouldn't keep the last spot open like normal years. I would go after a crafty 9. Danny Levi is who comes to mind for me, to play backup for Arthur.
I think we are building a team that is trying to be similar to Melbourne with an attacking spine. The comparisons being; Ponga - Pap, Brown - Munster, Sharpe - Hughes, Arthur - Grant. Obviously ours needs more work and development but that's the direction from the outside looking in. I think out of the off contract player available (limited ofc) but Levi signed on a 1 year deal to play as our Cup 9 and NRL when needed would be the move IMO, still quite a crafty 9 that would compliment this game style IMO
 
I've been trying to find if Jake Arthur has ever played hooker. If he is capable of playing hooker he would be my pick as backup for Mat Arthur. He is bigger and a better athlete than Mat, so he might even be first choice ahead of Mat after a bit of experience.

Everyone seems to think POS is going to pay out half the blokes he has signed in the last 12 months but I think thats is highly unlikely if only because a) they're on decent money and no one else would be interested in them or b) on deals to 2027 at least.

That said I could see McCarthy falling out of the top 30 back to a development deal because he'd surely be on close to min wage and only has a top 30 spot for 2026.

If that happens I'd be interested in Cory Paix and an edge forward. I don't really see a natural option to immediately replace KPP in the team if McEwen, Friz etc are all seen as middles now.

He is more of a match winner then Dylan Brown ever will be. Thursday night his attack was outstanding with points just flowing off the back of him. Ain't seen that from Dylan Brown. Remember Dylbro had 3 years direct coaching from Joey.....Brown's a dud and it's awful to think he did not want to get to us early if the reports are correct.....That hurts the most tbh
 
Brown is on big money at Parra.
We haven't got that sort of money floating around in our 2025 cap.
Parra would have said he can go if he wants, but they aren't paying him if he does, so he might have wanted to come, but not half his yearly income sort of desire.

People are making way too much of this.

We couldn’t pay him for starters. That’s not even going into how stupid it would be for him to uproot his life in a moments notice to go to another team that’s also not making finals. It’s the same thing with KPP.

It’s a shame that a lot of people don’t seem like they even want to give him a chance in the jersey, finding every possible reason why he’s the worst signing in the history of the NRL. Thought we’d give him a shot first.

I honestly can’t believe the amount of criticism of Brown since his signing. He is a talented 5/8 who will complement our other backs.

5/8’s can’t win games by themselves, but where there teammates are preforming they can be decisive.

Poll in herald this morning .Is Brown a good signing ?. 70% no !. I' be been against it from the start. But I have also said I feel sorry for the guy , doesn't know what he is walking into . Does seem odd feeling sorry for a multi millionaire 😀
