Couldn't see Lilly White on any other team sheets, unless she's being pegged for HN cup.

Lucy green not in squad either

Hannah Southwell is coaching the u/17's side but BMD premiership kicks off in a month and presumably they'll want at least a couple of weeks training with the side first, so seems like that's short-lived.

Wonder if there's some kind of conditions for NRLW club's allowing players to play. Can't say it doesn't make me a little nervous.

Yeah opens possibility of long term injury, but so does training.

The thing about Hannah Southwell playing Qld cup is it gives her a chance to get an origin callup.
I didn't realise how far from fit she was last year till I saw her warm up for the Brisbane final. She came back too early and reinjured herself early in the season and basically couldn't run. She was just smashing people in defence.
I don't think there's any doubt she would be in the origin squad if fully fit, so a run of games in Qld cup is her best chance to get picked.
Jesse might also need to impress to keep her origin spot after a few other halves looked pretty good last season.

Caitlan Moran to be the marquee signing for Maitland in the expanded Newcastle comp, which will start after Tarsha Gale finishes and most teams in the real NRL will field a side. The grandfinal will be an undercard game of the real NRL grandfinal.

The article also says most teams in the real NRL will field a side, including Wyong. I don't know where the Roosters NRLW side is based now, but for a number of years they were based at the Wyong Roos facilities at Kanwal and even ran their Tarsha Gale side as the Central Coast Roosters out of Kanwal as recently as last year, but seemed to have switched their home games from Wyong to Henson Park this year. You'd have to think Wyong will have many girls who have trained or played at very high levels and they will be unbeatable in the Newcastle comp, although Maitland seem to be putting together a strong squad with Moran and PNG international Anika Butler signed already.

Looking forward to seeing how Rima Butler goes tomorrow night in the all stars game.
In the training photos she looks super fit.

Rima Butler says both her parents are Maori but she was born and raised in Australia and is enjoying learning about Maori culture.
I assume she is in the odd position of being available for Maori all stars due to her heritage, but for NSW and Australia because of her birthplace and playing history.

Not that unusual these days, Tahu and Ponga have both done it already just from the Knights.

Gagai is doing it tonight as well, and multiple others in the side have played or are eligible for Origin. Extremely common at this point.
