I'm going to bite. Pearce Paul's leg was on the ground, he wasn't running "through". Cleary's leg landed on top of kpp. It was the softest penalty I've seen for that."OK Champ'd" for knowing the rules...lol
2003 Grand Final is the most underrated GF imo.Yep, that 2003 run was crazy, especially as they were 0-2 to start the season and on the verge of being 0-3 at haltime in Rd3 agaisnt the roosters, who they would eventually beat in the grand final. I remember Craig fitzgibbon missed a relatively easy penalty goal late in the game that would've won it for the Roosters, had that kick gone over, I doubt the Panthers go on their run, pretty crazy moment in time.
I was actually at the Knights v Panthers game in Newcastle that year, Tahu scored a hat trick and almost had a 4th, the Knights completely dominated the game yet still found a way to lose, I was salty as hell after, it was just meant to be the Panthers year.
Mckewn should have run over to the ref like Billy slater and told him he drop kicked itThat's good reffing letting it play out there, might have been a kick
Was crazy the way they just clicked that year ... they were hardly brilliant in 2002, either. Gower had a lot to do with it, he finally hit his potential that year and led them ... as did Clinton in their forwards, and Puletua and Galavao. Luke Lewis and Rooney were great fast, big bodies on the wing when that wasn't so common, Wesser brilliant at fullback ... Priddis had his best season too.Yep, that 2003 run was crazy, especially as they were 0-2 to start the season and on the verge of being 0-3 at haltime in Rd3 agaisnt the roosters, who they would eventually beat in the grand final. From the opening tackle to the end was brutal, so many massive hits and players going down inured, as well as the memorable tries and *that* tackle all done in torrential rain. Craziest part is, the 18-6 scoreline was the roosters biggest loss of the entire season & they didn't even win the minor premiership that year, the Panthers did.2003 Grand Final is the most underrated GF imo.
I dont even think they were that 'average' that year, it was just a year where they had almost zero luck, I used to make it to a lot of games back then and remember a bunch where they were easily the better team but managed to lose (in consolation, I was also at the game vs the dragons where Joey kicked the winning goal from the sideline after the siren, so, that made up for a lot of it lol). Then Joey getting injured late in the year essentially killed off their season, they still did well to fight their way into 7th place though, they could've just laid down and died but they didn't, I think the 'one man team' sledges were getting to them at that point. Was crazy the way they just clicked that year ... they were hardly brilliant in 2002, either. Was great the ways teams could just come from nowhere to win a comp in those days, Tigers in 05 being another one. The Raiders also went from very average to have a great year in 03 as well, so it was a breath of fresh air (even though the Knights were pretty average for most of the year).
Dom missed his assignment. Why he was infield is bizarre. You always hug the sideline in good ballArthur that was never on Bruz
Yeah pretty clearly a lack of familiarity thing.Dom missed his assignment. Why he was infield is bizarre. You always hug the sideline in good ball
