NRL Round 11 - Knights Vs Eels - 6:00pm Friday 16 May - McDonald Jones Stadium

Happy with 1-13, think Cogger did enough along with Gamble not shining in Cup, changes would be Arthur for Brailey, and Hetherington if fit or Bryan for Cant. Pleased with Frizell at prop and Elliott back to starting also Hunt for Marzhew is good

Cant hasn't had a bad game all year in any grade.
I'd love him to be bigger and have more impact, but he works his bum off. Someone has to.

Cogger names @6 in NSW cup with no gamble,Hethro or Bryan named in NSW cup so possibly a few more changes to the 17 before kick off
What do you mean?

Cogger wasn't named in NSW Cup at all..
Gamble and Hastings are the halves named.

Uhhhhh no I think when other teams are basing their game plan around abusing you to get ruck speed, you’re having a bad game.

Yes I know he was trying his butt off, but it’s loser mindset to give credit for that. Trying hard should be the baseline.

Fmd Cogger still?

This should be good. Moses and Lomax auditioning for Origin, they’ll both want to have big games.

If you’re going spend all this time and money on developing juniors, why not give some of them a crack?

Brailey won’t be here next year and he’s not performing well anyway, why not give Arthur a run?

Wonder how many will bother showing up this week.

It didn't work for them.
Our defence held up.

It really is concerning how underwhelming our pack looks just losing 1 starter, and I’m not even that high on Leo.

I have a theory that the club thought some of our junior forwards were closer to being ready to be first grade regulars than they actually are. McEwan’s defence isn’t ready, Tyrone’s motor isn’t ready, Cant’s too small, Bryan’s work rate isn’t there, Hopwood’s too young, etc.

I do have to wonder if POS is starting to panic. We’ve kind of made a statement now that we’re not prepared to pay much money for the likes of Elliott, KPP, etc. and if they move on we really have nothing to fall back on unless some of the young blokes can really step up. At this point I’ve come to accept they’re not going to be better than who we’ve lost, but they legitimately aren’t first graders ready and we need too many of them to be.

Having faith in your juniors is great, but it really goes to show you really can’t make any predictions on who will be a legitimate first grade option and when until they get a couple of games, especially when you suddenly need to blood so many at the same time. I really feel we should have prioritised buying and re-signing some genuine first graders. If some of the young blokes could step up and put pressure on them that’s great, but none of them seem ready to take a consistent first grade spot.

We’ll he was listed on the NSWRL site in team lists so must have gotten their wires crossed somewhere

put all our eggs in a 1.3 mill basket.

Yeah I do have to wonder if we would have paid so much to get Brown if we had have known how far away the forwards were in terms of being ready for first grade. Unfortunately we signed him before we had the injury toll and chance to see how far away they are. FTR I'm not against the Brown signing on its own, but he's not going to be able to do anything without a forward pack.

Compared to the Dragons they've had a decent crop of young forwards debut this year and actually look ready for NRL in Egan, Stewart and that big prop debuted on the weekend along with Toby Couchman has been good this year. Finau Latu another handy youngster but off to Canterbury next year.

I'm not convinced with Cant as a first grader still while he tries hard, there's limitations with him.

McEwen talented but raw and needs more time in reggies.

Hopwood I have no doubt will eventually make his debut in the NRL but not yet. Needs more time to develop in reggies.

Tyrone was brought in too soon due to injuries and haven't seen enough of Bryan to comment.

Lucas and Leo are the only younger forwards who have stepped here in recent years.

I'm at the point where I'm starting to hope we have a big loss so we are absolutely forced to do something.
But I don't even have faith AOB will do anything. He'll pull out one of the generic excuses.
