Luke Huth is a year older than Crossland and has been a standout hooker all through the juniors right up to playing for NSW under 20s last year.
It must be a sign that he won't get a contract next year that Crossland was dropped into hooker ahead of him, despite almost never playing hooker before.

I suppose with 4 good young hookers at the club, choosing the right one to bring through to first grade will be key. Huth may have just missed the boat.

Coach seemed impressed with NSW under 18s hooker Mitch Black when he gave him some time with firstgrade in pre season and in the trials. He is much bigger than Huth.

Crossland says nothing hard about playing hooker - crash course with Bedsy for a week and bob's your uncle.
Huth working hard at learning dummy half play for the last 6 or 7 years probably thinks there's a bit more to it.

I had a school teacher in primary school with a more impressive moustache than Crossland - Miss Kennedy.

It’s about time O’Brien manned up and gave an honest account of who he wants at the club, which players should stay and who should look elsewhere. He should stop dribbling rubbish and leading players on to think they have an opportunity at the club.

I think he's given Hoy, Randall, Crossland, Tuala, Shibasaki, Saulo and even Moga a crack, but he made them all really earn it. He is giving King a crack now, but made him work hard for it.
There are a few guys like Lino and Huth who haven't got a shot yet, and maybe he doesn't rate them, but he clearly doesn't rate King or Moga either, and gave them a go when they put in all the extra work.
The only two players I've heard him have a few doubts about re training effort are Toa and Shiba, and they are now getting a run when we run out of others to put in.
All in all, I think he's been hard but fair, as he promised to be. You put in a lot of effort and he'll give you a crack, unless your name is Huth or Lino.

Saw a tweet by Toohey where he talks about Crossland, Hoy and Pezet being our backup halves next year.
Pezet does turn 18 next year sometime, but it was only last year he was blitzing the under 16s comp.
Pezet didn't lose a game in under 16s last year (the team lost 1 game when he was injured) and we finished undefeated in under 18s this year when they shut down the comp.
