Yeah thats a good point. At any point during this whole thing Snowden could have re-signed with the Sharks. The Sharks have left their offer, and now newer offer out there because they don't really have much of a choice in that department. Snowden spoke highly of Bennett, and if Stone had re-signed I think Snowden would have been more of a done deal at this point.

Anyway I think if they want to fit both Boyd and Snowden in the cap they will. There are plenty of scrubs that can be let loose to make room and they can be replace by minimum wage Toyota Cup players/NSW Cup players. Its not that hard to make room. Also I find it highly unlikely the $300k figure that De Gois was rumoured to be on true. 220-280k sounds more likely, on the lower end.
 
I dont know, I think we would have thrown a fair bit at him, would of had heap of cap room after Buderus left ?
 
A heap but we would have been silly to throw most of it at De Gois. We signed Ndaira as a backup but that would have been a bit above minimum wage anyway.

Im not sure what gives you the idea that Boyd is worth 400k especially to us. He isn't proven to play in the halves, is no game braker & is only signing by default because we have no direct need for him. We are paying him much less than 300k

his worth to our team with what we have & what we need is 200k imo so anything over that he is lucky

It was in Rugby League Week a week or so ago and I think the SMH was talking about it too. They were both saying he is a favourite of Bennett's and may consider following Bennett. Lot cheaper than Snowden no doubt!!! Maybe that's an issue with signing Snowen too.
 
Whats the SMH link? I read it often pretty much everyday for the new NRL articles and didn't notice it.
 
Ah yep I see it now, similar to I guess Picker and Blair being linked to us though more of a possibility because he is a Dragons player.
 
Not regarding players but still "rumoured targets" is there any decision or canditates more likely to be our new CEO then when first reported? Maybe its too soon to ask because the takeover paperwork still hasn't been done yet. I dont mind that there isnt much media exposure though.

Well if you got the chance to be coached by Wayne Bennett when you're still young would you pass it up? He'll probably leave when he's older but it would feel pretty good knowing that Bennett himself always wants you in his team.
 
Yeah he's a quality player that just adds to our team that we all know can be the best when performing at their potential. Now we have the best coach ever for 4 years to help this team realise it's potential. I don't see how some people are against Boyd!
 
Yeah its not often you get an Origin and Aus rep player willing to join your club heh. I think every player wants to impress their coach and play their best under their coach and if Boyd plays his best under Bennett he is better off here ;)

Its a lot of contradiction really.

You'll notice a lot of people who want Boyd to come here are also against Gidley playing anywhere other then his best position at FB this year. So which side do you pick in 2012. They cant both play FB.
