Knights rumoured targets for 2012

Read an article on Sandow possibly moving to Brisbane and it said that Bennett pushed for Brisbane to sign Sandow for like after Lockyer, and for the Eels to go after him too as Wayne rated him.

Asked if he was so keen on him why wouldn't he be an option for Newcastle. Bennett said he was 'settled' on the halves in Newcastle.

Phew!

I wouldn't cope with Sandow here, there is enough confusion over the halves at the Centurions as it is!

Odd...Ive been reading Sandow to the Eels is a done deal pretty much? And I also read that Bennett encouraged the Eels and Kearney to sign him?

Settled on the halves? Either he's been snubbing his role at the dragons or he's done it without the full research! It's Bennett though, his instincts are probably right.

Still...I don't know how you can be settled unless you're sticking with Mullo and Henry. With Roberts emerging though we have a Dureau/Walsh saga again, except this time we have good halves :P

I understand where roger is coming from, we're now the most financially backed club in the NRL, we can offer big 3rd part deals plus we have the great coach on board but still we've signed noone while other clubs are making big name announcements. Im feeling a bit jealous myself but I realise we've only been in the high roller position for a short time and shouldn't expect us to sign 70 stars overnight. I know Bennett has grand plans for Newcastle and I trust whatever decisions he makes, patience is just the thing Im starting to struggle with but in a good way, Im so excited to know who will be playing for us next year.

- Off contract players to be informed of their positions
- Boyd agreed to terms but leaning towards move to Gold Coast
- Snowden discussed
- No interest in Bird

Pretty much was expected to happen. Doesn't look like anyone is any more surer of Snowden. His management told the Sharks theyd have a decision by the end of the week but surely he wont announce it when the games are being played? Maybe he's still waiting on the Knights to finish their discussions?

edit: I also find it amusing how people (prob Dragons fans) complaining in comments sections about Bennett thinking ahead with his job next year...Do people seriously think all his free time is used up on Dragons agenda? Of course not. He is entitled to do whatever he wants in his free time. Coaching the Dragons isnt a 24 hour a day job.

Most recent article on Bennett's visit - http://www.theherald.com.au/news/lo...-likes-what-he-sees-at-newcastle/2148519.aspx
- Toured the facilities
- Met the Knights officials and staff
- Discussions on recruitment/retention. Boyd, Snowden and Stone were discussed, nothing to be revealed publicly yet, except Stone and the club are working through the offer for him to stay at the Knights. These talks look like they have moved along well
- Knights management will expedite their strategic planning process over the next 2 weeks as they have the BYE, so itll be interesting to see what becomes of it

Which leads to what was reported earlier about Snowden's management saying he will have a decision by the end of the week...Tinkler must have convinced him to wait another week or two because during the BYE is when the takeover paperwork is completed and the Knights begin their strategic planning. A good thing Snowden's waiting for us? (he might make up his mind on sunday, who knows) He still seems keen to come here, I hope something can be sorted out!

I strongly doubt we are going to miss out on players by waiting for any length of time. With what we now have to offer there are very few players who wouldn't be willing to wait on a decision if it means having the chance to work under Bennett

AFL isn't the game Issy was born to play..

Different skill set, different training just different all around
If he wants to make millions playing reserves for GSW good luck to him

I honestly think he will be back in league before long, and who better than The mighty red and blue under Benett
