Lisfranc injury confirmed for Ponga, he might return at the end of the year.
Hopefully not.Thought Hunt might be slightly ahead for f/b
I reckon we’d have made it if Ponga and Sharpe hadn’t fallen prey to injury, but agreed, no hope now. Hope they both take the rest of the season off. It’s round 17, what’s the point of him coming back for a game or two?
There is ZERO chance this team makes finals. Not with our attack. Get him sorted for preseason.
Another 19 year old on the scrap heap. Oh well.Hopefully not.
I don’t really see anything in Hunt, he is a solid first grader and that’s about it, he really only has Ariel threat in his arsenal.
Very slow probably our slowest fullback option, no footwork, whilst he looks like he could be really strong in the future, he toke about 4 nrl games just to register a tackle break.
I think his future lies in the forwards to be fair he just doesn’t have enough to be a high end back in the nrl and with McCarthy, De Coursey, D’arce, Latu and Gow all those players look really talented and McCarthy ready right now. I just don’t see him as good as those I mentioned at the moment maybe in the same level as McCarthy but I’d say Kyle is just faster than Hunt.
Votano is a lot faster (no where near Sharpe but he is quicker than Hunt) can ball play, very good support runner, doesn’t mind the hard carries if needed, and can also be a Ariel threat so I think it’s time.
Right now I’d pick Votano at fullback and just so he doesn’t lose confidence I’d tell him to not be a hero and that we don’t expect to much from him it’s more a develop thing so he can play with freedom and relax.
Maybe start training Hunt in the forwards, he is a tall sucker maybe a prop? Lock? Just don’t see him as a high end back especially with the current crop coming through
Yeah, I dunno if we’ve seen it already this year, but there’s got to be concerns about these injuries affecting his skills long term at this stage.Ponga is entering Turbo injury status now. Does not have the robustness of a Teddy or Edward’s. Unfortunate. Oh well another year.![]()
Edwards took a number of years before he was fit enough to play long stints, he was always injured or at least playing wounded. Ponga could still get there but it is getting harder to believe thatPonga is entering Turbo injury status now. Does not have the robustness of a Teddy or Edward’s. Unfortunate. Oh well another year.![]()
It’s called a spit ball muppet, learn what it means.Hunt at prop. I’ve heard it all now.
Can’t wait for when they continue to play him I do love as “I told ya so”Another 19 year old on the scrap heap. Oh well.
I love how in one thread people are saying we all write off juniors way too fast, here we hype them up way too much. There’s no winning!
I really love that philosophy Kurroboy, very eloquently put!A message for life that one, There is no winning! Only the struggle against the inevitable decline.
I have to say though, I can't recall someone on here being called a muppet before. Let's be careful not to turn in to that other forum.
