Hmm, I called in sick today, didn't realise this was on ... might just go and tune in! haha.

We need early wickets, and lots of them if this batting order get on a roll Australia are gone.

We had a blackout at work I was suggestign we all go home and watch the cricket, the power came back on...............:cry:
 
First session to England ... they'll be hoping one of these two capitalises on their start and goes on to get 100, at least.

God almighty, I can't take much more of Mark Nicholas ... why doesn't he just propose to Shane Watson and be done with it?!

Thought the mocking of Pieterson's pads was a bit strange too, they looked fine to me!
 
How good is Siddle at the moment!

I still think Siddle is not all that , just a really good day for him . Bollinger is 50 times the bowler Siddle is .
 
I disagree with that Siddle and Bollinger are very similar both run in hard hit the deck with pace and give 100% but in saying that they are both 100 times better than Mitchell Johnson will the selectors **** him off

I'm no expert on the Australian side, but I agree. even Mitchell Johnson tore SA apart a few years ago! :lol:
 
apparently Siddle has changed his diet, his exercise regime, and according to himself has come back a fitter, more consistent bowler. I know how that sounds, but yesterday he was bowling consistently good length balls, when previously he was known for bowling them too short.
I know its only one test, but if he keeps consistently bowling well, theres no doubt he has to be in the side.
Johnson is another matter. He should be swapped for dougie. Dougie is much more consistent, with a much better bowling average. Johnson is just too inconsistent. For me, he's the Marcus north of our bowlers - awesome one day, terrible the next.
Speaking of north, terrible shot to get out today, wasn't even watching the ball. Hes too inconsistent as well.
I'm a massive fan of Mike Hussey, and am having a good time frothing over how well he played today. If he gets at least 19 tomorrow i'm going bananas.
 
Enjoying the match so far, Siddle bowled very well so he deserves to stay there, teriffic effort from Huss today aswell, some pretty average captaincy on display aswell.

If that's the explanation for Siddle's performance and he keeps it up, then good on him!

This game's really still in the balance I gotta say ... I can see England recovering from even a 100 run deficit to post a competitive fourth innings total ... not sure if the Gabba breaks up much in the fourth innings?

Australia have done really well so far though, I've been impressed.
 
North has a terrible backlift... if he is the slightest of margins late on his movement, he is always going to be a risk of edging it.

Against Swann he was no chance.
 
If Siddle has really worked on things and that's the reason for his improvement then I got no complaints but i'm expecting more consistency , i'm not jumping on the Siddle train after one good performance .

I also hope they drop North next game and bring in Usman Khawaja , blood in the youngsters since we are getting nowhere at this point .

On a side note , is it just me who can't stand Clarke?

I'd give North another go, if not bring uzi in (seems like a promisng rookie). But Siddle has to play the rest of the series. You don't just get six wickets in the Ashes with luck. Miles ahead of Bollinger atm.
