Ex-Knights Watch

They are placing both koula and Garrick in the centres a few injuries in the back 3 hes in, we were never gonna be able to keep him after ponga to 6 failed
Yeah, agree that we were never going to keep him, particularly with Pryce, Armstrong and Sharpe waiting in the wings.

Whilst Koula and Garrick may start at centre you would imagine that they would go to FB if Tommy gets injured.

Mitch Henderson looked good for short minutes for the Raiders. He's bulked up and looks very chunky now. The commentators said he was playing second row but he was clearly in the halves and being a playmaker.
I thought he might be too small to go far even though he has always been a very strong defender, but now he looks like he could be close to 100kg and built very low to the ground, so perfect for strong defence, and still manages to be deceptively fast for a chunky guy.

Just reading that Jacob Gagai will make his NRL debut in Las Vegas.
He was a funny player in our lower grades. Every now and then - maybe 4 games a year - he'd have an amazing game where you would think he could be as good as his brother - but the other 20 games a year you'd wonder why we bother with him.
He must be about 30.

Wow, I'm stoked he's finally getting a game! Been plugging away in NSW Cup for so long, must be close to a record for number of games there before debuting.

Ethan Ferguson has joined Brad Tighe coached Norths in the Newcastle comp.
Maybe he'll come back to play Flegg next year.
A year of playing against men wouldn't hurt him.

The soldier badly injured in a parachute jump in Sydney this morning has been identified as Lauclan Fitzgibbon's cousin.

It’s so good to see Connor Watson on the field after a horror injury run. The 27-year-old missed the entire 2023 season after tearing the patella tendon in his left knee at training — but looked like his old self on Saturday. The livewire lock played 80 minutes and notched up a linebreak, seven tackle busts, two offloads and 180 running metres, while also making 45 tackles with just one miss. Sandon Smith got the nod for the NRL bench utility role for Round 1 but it’ll be hard for Trent Robinson to ignore Watson after that performance.

Jirah Momoisea released by Parra. Hardly played for them, only 3 appearances.
How he never kicked on is a mystery.
He was a very athletic guy - tall, fast, strongest guy at the club.
I think I stopped believing in him when Tom Starling played his first reserve grade game for Canberra against us and decided the guy to run at on the line was Jirah. Tom scored 3 tries by just running over the top of a guy twice his size who was supposed to be our strongest player in the guy.

Not really surprised. Never saw anything to be excited about on the field in any grade regardless of what we heard about him doing in the gym.

Yeah I just think of Marty taupau. Good player in his day but was constantly talked about being a gym junkie. Seen him get pushed over by Adam reynolds and thought the guys a myth.

He's off to the Bulldogs on a NSW Cup deal by the look of things. Fell out of favour very quickly at the Eels, was in their 17 for the first few games of last year and not long after he was consistently 18th man in NSW Cup.
