Yeah I’d say it’s more they are desperate to improve their squad and he’ll be taking up too much of their cap for what he provides.
It was a very poor move swapping him for Hastings in the first place and I’m sure with Brookes now having left they’d change their decision if they had a time machine.

Doesn't sound like they have worked out where to play him yet. He says he is working on second row but could play "in the middle". which I think means 5/8 taken in context with the rest of the discussion about where he can play in the article.
He says he has many friends from NZ and the Knights playing for Canberra, so is comfortable there. Says Timoko was a junior team mate in NZ.

Some blokes get a taste of the standards & level of commitment required for the top level and decide it’s not for them. He might just be happier working a day job, playing bush footy for fun with his mates, and getting more time to be around family. Good on him if so.
