Chris Houston signs with the Widnes Vikings

I completely forgot about McManus jumping abilities... he used to be amazing in the air, but does that come down to his game and body declining or halves not being able to set him up properly?

Think about it, when was the last time you saw one of our halves kick to a corner, & there's your answer. I do remember Mullen started kicking to Uate a bit 1 or 2 years back, but Uate could never take them so they gave up. Maybe Mullen can only kick it to the right wing then.

Mullen always does those little chips to the centers now. In true Knights fashion, we had a play that resulted in a fair few points, so stopped doing it.

...but who would want Houston?...oh Smiths' got another coaching gig somewhere in England doesn't he?...sorted! :dancing:

I remember those floating banana kicks that'd spin back that he used to do. Vuna got plenty of tries off them. Mullen hasn't done one of those for years.

He did an amazing one in the Roosters final to Leilua.

Smith would have moved him on years ago if he was still at the Knights, I reckon. Or just not re-signed him after his drug drama.

Costigan was another one we stuffed up with used as a martin lang style prop he was great.

Yeah, that's where he played great at the Dragons when they won the comp in 2010 ... and we finally gave him a shot there in our great run at the end of 2013 (right before he left).

Read on this page that we are talking about offloading Uate but having no luck finding a club for him...

Great news, one of the dumbest moves ever by the Knights, that massive contract, when he was already well on the decline.

Like Houston though, I struggle to see any clubs being interested, especially given the price (assuming we would want some return for letting him go).

It's just great to see he is not here to make friends.

I think uate has plenty to offer still if he is interested.

Agree James. I doubt any Club would offer Uate more than $150,000 based on his last couple of seasons, and with an aging player having a ****y knee thrown in, even that may be too much.

Would not leave us much better off topping up say $400k!

It's all well and good to let players go but we need to sign replacements. Our depth is terrible and we can't really afford to lose any more.

We've been really gifted with our back line in the modern era but think there's heaps of clubs with shocking wingers like us. There's got to be some clubs interested on a 250-300k deal surely

That's not going to happen straight away though. But if we get rid of the overpaid, underperforming players then we do at least have the money for when what we need does come up.

2016 is already a write off, imo. Might as well make the most of it and have a shot at a decent side in 2017.

You forgot has played about 15 kgs above his playing weight as well.

How could one forget watching him this season. Turn and chase non-existent. If he had a chance of improving I think Brownie would be doing that but his whole attitude stinks. Remember the 'happy to play Reggies' interview earlier this year?

Even poor old Richard Knee from Hey Hey it's Saturday comes under the radar of the PC thought police!
