Am I the only who's lost interest ?

Serious question. It's all well and good to say. '' It's not all about winning someone has to lose'' But why is it allways the Knights to lose ?

It's gotten to the point now i expect them to lose. Even when they win my feeling is like ''yeah but we'll lose next week''

I've supported the knights since i was a young kid and i could never go for another team. Which has resulted in me losing alot of interest in nrl.

Am i the only one. ?

Have i lost interest? No, Have i Been disappointed? well i think we all have, Will i stop watching or listening to knights games? Hell no!!

compared with the rabid intensity i used to have when it came to supporting the Knights, i've definitely lost interest and have been going through the motions as a supporter for the past two years now...i no longer have the passion to really care if we win or lose nor do i compile and devour stats like i used to and i have not bought a new jumper this year (not even the cool heritage jersey)nor did i renew my membership or buy a season ticket...talk about falling out of love with this football team...i should be jumping out of my skin to support the team again considering all the good things that happened last year leading into this but there's nothing...just a flat and empty feeling...

Surprisingly I'm with you. I'm still a mad supporter(I'm considering going to NZ for a holiday with the game as a bonus) but **** me have I not bothered to go to the game but instead do something else knowing it's going to be a boring game/below par. I still watch the away games live though on fox sports. But I was just as keen as everybody else before the season started. As an fan should, stick with them and support them. That's Newcastle at best. We'll come good.;) Whether that'll be next week, finals or next year we will get better without a doubt.

I still get pumped for there games and never miss them, if i do i make sure i record it and watch it before coming on here and try not to listen to the news or go on twitter so as not to spoil it, but that being said when i sit down to watch it i know that i am in for a boring game, probably a frustraiting game to watch our style of football is definately not exciting or what i would show to someone who was looking to get into nrl.

there are 2 blue and red net ball teams playing on ten right now. its freaking hot. maybe i can support them as well

It's all part of the fun. How boring would it be on here if our side was absolutely perfect? How satisfying is it going to be if we can get through this and become a powerhouse in 3 years?

We will be bringing all these old threads up that's for sure.

I bloody hope it happens. Some of the things people have said in recent weeks have been near disgraceful. Things like people not even bothering watching games anymore, having a go at the coach, even calling him racist! I can assure you most of these people will be cheering us on if we hit our straps at some point this season or in coming years. Stick strong, some decisions people won't like but that's what the NRL is, the satisfaction is building from a working class team to a premiership force. People have lost faith after 10 ROUNDS!!!!

Once again Josh confuses an opinion that the Coach isn't keen on Polynesian forwards with calling someone a racist. Making a decision or having a thought as to what players might be best suited to what role does not make you a racist in anyone's language. This time next year we'll see how many Polynesian forwards start round 10.

PS - glad those losing interest haven't followed Cronulla since they entered the comp. Worse still you could have followed the Bears. I haven't lost interest but have reassessed where I think we'll finish. 8,9 or 10 as compared to 3,4 at the start of the season.

I agree its been a tough season for Knights fans, made worse by the incredible hype about the Tinkler/Bennett dynasty, but there are positives - our defense has improved dramatically. Bennett is working with many players that a lot of NRL clubs would consider "average" and he has been constantly juggling injury problems with his roster. I certainly haven't lost interest, even though I'm frustrated. We are our own worst enemy at the moment, but talk to your mates who are Parramatta supporters and you will certainly feel a bit better.

On the Marathon Stadium facebook page, someone posted today what Bennett said after last night's game. He came here for 4 years, he didn't come to get Newcastle a premiership this year. He came to teach the club how to be a premiership contender for MANY YEARS even after he leaves. I still remember he said that too many bad habits had crept into this place, and I'm not surprised, you could always afford to be a little complacent when you have Joey and Bedsy in your side. But they can't anymore.

Am I disappointed? Well we're not imploding like Paramatta and I can see they boys are having a go. Even Boyd is crying (supposedly) for having a bad game. Great. It shows he cares. And what does he do next week? Probably play his best game in the red and blue so far. Bennett is asking us to be patient and give him some time (something the board didn't do for Brian Smith). I'm disappointed in our recent results, but still excited for what'll happen in the next few years.

Will I ever stop supporting the Knights? I stuck with them in 2005, and during the bullsh*t Reynolds and Newton saga (which was basically Rothfield bashing the knights :fist:), and I'm not going to stop now :D

:Knights:

YES!
I am getting sick of being disappointed so Im taking a step back so that I don't get so involved and so upset when we lose again.

Don't jump straight on cole phelps for saying how he feels and don't bother pulling out the "real fan" bull****, this is about being so involved we're getting our feelings hurt and no one said we weren't going to go to every game and scream our lungs out and get our heart broken again every week- just that we're just not feeling the same intensity as usual.

It's tough to work yourself up all week and then go watch forward passes, knock ons with wide open spaces and what appears to be a lack of passion from the boys on the field.... tho all the signs of improvement were there this week so lets pray it continues on the up and up because I miss that awesome winning feeling :D

Tennyson once wrote: 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

Doesn't victory taste so much sweeter after years of hardship? Don't you just feel alive?! I am envisioning a light at the end of a tunnel, maybe it's getting smaller, maybe we're getting closer...it doesn't matter because it's there. Some fans will naturally see it extinguished, but at the end of the day they don't realize that it will always reappear. The team won't lose forever. Maybe it'll take 10 years, maybe 2...but the light will return. You just need to expand your expectations!

If he'd been posting on here for years then I don't think anybody would mind, but we don't actually have any evidence he is a real fan. Not saying he isn't, but that's the impression you get when that's the only thing that he's posted.

Its just the standard thing that comes out whenever anyone says anything that isn't 100% positive the "real fan" thing and I'm a bit over it is all.... as for Cole Phelps maybe he lurks with nothing too interesting or exciting to add and finally he snapped and had to vent this to us. I could be clutching.
