2025 Recruitment And Retention

Unless Pezet signs and gets released for 25, Cogger will play plenty.
Extraordinarily unlikely that he is held captive at the Storm. Nearly impossible given the circumstances. The Storm would need to be willing to withstand more drama than it is worth, and for a smart club like the Storm that's an unlikely picture

If we sign Pezet, and he is released for 2025 by the Storm, we’ll still need a backup halfback for next year.

It still remains to be seen whether Hastings is fit enough to play first grade and whether he has sorted out his attitude.

On the flip side it sets a precedent that Storm let players go before their contract is up. Very unlikely.
Yeah I'd love to see him here next year but doubt Storm lets him go early (assuming it's us that he signs with).

He's excellent depth and gives them coverage when Munster or Hughes is out for injury/rep games. Storm have been close to premiership success the past few years. Jonah might also want to stay for one last roll of the dice there at a premiership.

If Leo signs elsewhere, I really doubt Knights let him go early either (as a flipped example).

Storm unlikely would let him go but TBH, hes coming off an ACL will miss a fair chunk of the start of the season and then getting back up to speed. Do we really need that in our roster next year? 2026 hell yeah keen as a bean.

The Storm will have RLPA, The NRL, the players family, the media and their own community to deal with if they want to prevent a 21 year old 4th string half from beginning an inevitable start as a senior player on greater than a **** weak minimum wage. Im telling you, there's almost no chance they even attempt to hold him.

They'll pretend for a moment to perform the usual theatrics. And then he'll be with us within a couple weeks of signing

I genuinely hope you are right but I don’t think they will let him go early. The RPLA and the NRL aren’t going to care - he is under contract so for them to get involved would also set a dangerous precedent.

Has almost nothing to do with the Contracts enforceability. Has everything to do with culture. They wouldn't want to be seen to damage the young man.

He's not a material piece of their title push.
