2024 - 2025 Summer of Cricket

The Rawalpindi wicket is reasonable to bat on at present. Despite what some commentators may have you believe. Batsmen need to be careful sweeping. When the ball gets old it doesn’t spin as much.

England did not get quite enough runs and Pakistan have fought back well.
 
It’s a pitch where batsmen have to take time to play themselves in. Some balls spin and some don’t. A few balls are keeping low now.

Sajid and Ali bowled very well, much better than the English spinners. Pope looked out of his depth.

I can only see one result in this game now.

It’s been an excellent game to watch.

Pope is a strange one. On form he should be dropped but it was only recently he was stand in captain so I can’t see them doing that. He’s too frenetic at the start of his innings. When he settles he very often scores big and has 3 recent centuries.

Agree. A Pakistan win is the likely result now.
 
England has crumbled for just 112. It’s been a very impressive performance by Sajid and Noman.

It looks as though the pressure has got to Stokes. I could happily watch his dismissal a few more times.

Smith could not repeat his first innings heroics and quickly self destructed.
 
It's a 113 run win for NZ and we win the series! Our first series win in India, India's first home series loss since 2012, and just their fourth home series loss since 1987! :o

Did not see this coming, just went down 2-0 to Sri Lanka, Kane Williamson out injured, and first test MOTM Matt Henry ruled out of the second test too.

Believe we are the first side not Australia or England to beat India in a series at India in several years. Picked a good time to watch the test after the unsurprising All Blacks win tonight.

The series losses since 1987 are:

South Africa 1999/00
Australia 2004/05
England 2012/13
(and now NZ 2024/25)

Bit weird that there's no Asian sides in there.
 
A huge achievement by the Kiwis tonight, missing 2 key players. It’s great to see!

Australia have not been able to win a test series in India since 2004.

Stokes’s home was burgled recently while his wife and 2 children were home. His OBE a handbag and jewellery were stolen.

It is a very low act to steal some else’s medal and terrify their wife and children while they are overseas representing their country.

With 1 match to go it doesn’t look like he will be taking Warner’s place in the test team.
 
And NZ has made it 3-0 in India! India's first ever whitewash loss at home in a test series! :o

And this time we did it without Santner who was man of the match in the second test! The man of the match missed the next game in the second and third tests ... unbelievable!

Have a little tear in the eye after that performance.
 
An excellent innings by Cummins saved the game for us. He bats exceptional well under pressure.

Scored 90 in his last test, so that would be a harsh dropping, even if he has been out of form.

Very weird that Australia didn't tour anywhere for tests over winter.
