2024 - 2025 Summer of Cricket

I’m not trying to offend anyone, for me it’s just banter.

I have just been stating well known historical facts. Some English people like to sanitise history and some just aren’t aware of what happened in the past. Just as many white settlers in Australia and New Zealand sanitised their occupation of both countries.

Wow! When I last watched Sri Lanka play they weren’t that good.

The pitch can’t be blamed when one side scored 600 for the loss of just 5 wickets.

NZ’s performance should at least result in a shake up of NZ cricket.

My lot descended from one of the Scottish border raider clans that the English outlawed and banished to Ireland.

That doesn’t mean I hate the English at all, just the English cricket team 🤣
 
Just when England looked on track for 400, they collapsed and were spun out for 309.

With rain closing in and Australia ahead of the D/L target not even “a mysterious shoe malfunction” could prevent 20.4 overs from being bowled for Australia to record a 3-2 series victory.

Australia’s next assignment is a 3 match ODI series against Pakistan starting on November 4.

The home test series which follows against India will be a major challenge for Australia.

im fairly sure England got a moral victory in the series though.
 
Time to close this thread for a while, some very tired "banter" just being repeated endlessly. Maybe a chance for people to reflect on things.
 
England have got away from Pakistan in the first test at Multan.

Root has scored his highest score in test cricket, he is currently 256 not out and has become England’s leading run-scorer in test cricket and he is currently averaging 50 in tests. The rave reviews I heard about him when he was a young player have been warranted and much more.

Brook has scored 218 not out and him and Root have put on 409 together.

England will have another crack at the Pakistani attack after lunch.

Pakistan have wilted and the pressure will on them in the third innings of this game.

There is a 19 year old opening bat from NSW called Konstas who scored his first shield hundred in the first innings and followed it up with 105 in the second innings. This is just his 5th shield game. He is rated very highly.
 
What the hell is going on with Root?
He must be taking the same stuff those English fastbowlers have been getting into for years.
I'm surprised he's only 33. He seems to have been around for that long - must have started when he was 3.

Root and Brook are both from Yorkshire. The finest county in all the land.

It’s a shame the curators prepared an absolute road for a pitch. Hopefully it will start breaking up later.
