The sprinkler was very cringe. Like the Australian men's swimming relay and the 'smash them like guitars' stuff against the Americans.

I disagree. The sprinkler in any situation is a winner

I do enjoy the long held and not so subtle Australian strategy of belting the touring spinner out of the attack, consequently forcing the English quicks to bowl much longer spells in the heat of an Australian summer. It never gets old.

Mason Crane. It was his test debut, and also doubled as his final test. He finished with 1/193, as Australia got home in a thriller by an innings and 123 runs.

I think his elbow has gone then as well but with no alternatives they kept bowling him into the ground. Sad end to a late flourishing career. I don’t care what anyone says, the sprinkler was great!

Undoubtedly the greatest and most significant sporting celebration of the last century.

You would think England with a population of about 56,489,800 people (according to their 2021 census) would be able regularly beat Australia with less than half of it’s population at 25,422,788 (according to our 2021 census) but obviously not.

No wonder England has a long history of allowing Welshmen, Scotsmen, Irishman ( until recently), South Africans, Zimbabweans, Indians, West Indians and Kiwis to play for them to try to strengthen their team. And they still lose more test matches than they win against Australia.

Luckily England has plenty of experience losing at football to draw on when comes coping with losing at cricket.

One day when England was batting diabolically in a test match during the last Ashes here, I said to my brother-in-law I almost feel sorry for them. My brother-in-law who is of Scottish descent, said don’t feel sorry for them, their ancestors used to kill our ancestors.

Jesus man. You’re a warped bigot. How small minded to judge a person, team, country or group of people because of the ancient behaviour of a nation. My Scottish wife’s best friend was hospitalised and disfigured by a bunch of Aussie’s who attacked him brutally outside a pub for no reason. Should we hate every Australian sporting team and person in society…….?? Warped. And that’s good night for me. I’m not going to participate in such a dumb conversation. This isn’t sport anymore.

I don’t dislike the English, even though there treatment of my Scottish and Irish ancestors was bad on numerous occasions. I just love beating England at sport. It’s a rivalry that goes back centuries for people of Celtic descent like me.

I don’t condone violence of any sort.

When you first mentioned the CBM comparison I thought “crikey, that’s a bit much” but I’m leaning towards it now on this thread.
