He stated that they lost that due to 2 x cancelled camps in Queensland.
They could've or certainly would've still be conducting pre-season training even if they couldn't get to the camps; surely?!?!?

The replacement camp we arranged in Tamworth after the sunshine coast camp fell through turned into a disaster. It was right when the more infectious form of covid started and before booster shots were available, so a couple of players went into camp with covid and before the first week was over half the players and all the coaches had it. They cancelled the second week, but the other half of the squad got covid in the next week anyway.
I reckon we lost about 3 weeks right there.

Fair call but I would've thought that the other 15 teams would've also had covid interruptions?!
Just feels like a possibly lame excuse for a club heading south in it's performance.
Admittedly, there were also many other issues. So, I would hope that with most of those resolved and no covid pre-season interruptions this off-season, let's hope that the excuses are no longer even required next year.

Interesting article. You could argue we have had similar injury crisis the past few years. I made a comment earlier i thought the difference Fogerty made after his return from injury.

Here’s some other tidbits you can pickup from listed player heights and weights:
- Andrew Fifita is apparently 1cm shorter than Daniel Saifiti, and weighs 5kg less than him.
- Brian To’o is 6 feet tall apparently.
- David Klemmer somehow weighs more than Nelson Asofa-Solomona despite being both shorter and slimmer.
- Jai Arrow allegedly weighs less than Esan Masters, Brodie Jones, Greg Marzhew (who’s about half a foot shorter than him), Herbie Farnworth and Liam Martin. *Significantly* less in a few cases.
- Enari Tuala weighs the same as Jack Wighton and Euan Aitken, and *more than* Campbell Graham and Brandon Smith.
In short - as with Billy Slater claiming to be 5’11” when he used to be a jockey - what’s laughable is putting any credence at all in the reported numbers.
