Just means we forfeit 300-400k for another position in the 13 to cover the extras paid to Munster. Based on how we're travelling without a gun half, I'd say that's the best of the options currently available to us.

If we get Munster. And get lucky with a junior or two on a cheap contract, we'll have covered for the overs we're paying. That's not a bad gamble to take all considered

There's plenty of reasons he might sign elsewhere. We're a strong chance for the spoon this year and there are doubts over whether our coach is capable and will be here beyond this year. It's currently a basket case. Money alone might not be enough, because he'd be a walk-up start for any club with salary cap to make him an offer. If he wants more footy success and not just coin, then he'd be better off not coming here. He could accept less money to join a club with more promise of success.
 
Or he can take the same money to move back home where his family is and have one of the greatest coaches of all time in charge (and a clear succession plan past that).

My maths is a bit rusty, but ten grand finals is more than four, I think.
 
How come all the other clubs are signing players and improving thier rosters, yet we seem to be sitting back and watching it all happen when our roster needs alot of improvement.

If we don't have any spots available surely they have started trying to offload players and make spots to get new players. Surely some will be wanted in Super League and we might be able to trade others to another club in player swaps. If you let players know they have no future at the club beyond thier current contract they hopefully will want to move on early to try to extend their careers.

Players i'd be trying to send to Super League if we can get other players to cover thier possitions would be:
Clifford
Fitzgibbon
Johns
Jones
Mann
 
In tooheys article this week he says that in addition to the 25 players already signed and confirmed on the nrl site we will also have Bevan French and Dylan Lucas will be upgraded to top 30.

Two more spots will be filled by KPP and Brooks if they're released, with the last presumably left free going into the season.

That will mean saulo and crossland don't get deals.

it sounds like we are making it up on the run, i can't see any plan to our recruitment. Too many players on more than they are worth and too many players signed to multi year deals when they should have been offered 1 year deals at most. I really don't get the Bevan French signing.

I hope Parr can sort this out quickly. I do think that we will perform better as a team next season then this season though because the players will be more accountable with Parr around
 
Latest name to be linked with us after requesting a release from the Broncos - Tyson Gamble.

Not a complete player/halfback but someone who can certainly add an element to the side that we are missing, has been very good for the Broncos this season.

Yep real dominant voice, obviously not a traditional 7 but he played the halfback role earlier in the year against us and did a decent job so could see him being an option at either 6/7.

Either way I think he definitely improves our squad for next season.
 
Oh my ****ing God. You are kidding me.

The club has a long term addiction to guys who shout a lot and make a big show of how hard they’re trying but make almost no contribution to winning football, and now they’re looking to sign the absolute patron saint of that kind of player. Get absolutely ****ed.

Absolutely no idea at this club, totally redundant player unless we are looking to get rid of Kurt Mann. Joey froths him in comms. He’s having more of a say in our recruitment than he’s letting on I think.

The last 3 would be

Saulo, Crossland and Musgrove.

Which I agree we simply don't need.

Contracted players I'd release if possible would be...
