2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

I guarantee half, if not, most of this forum haven’t even watched French play in the Super League since he left Parramatta.
Include me in that stat, not inclined to watch games other than NRL comp obviously Knights, do look at highlights of players as potential signings, check out some available signings from other clubs French is a slight memory from Parra mainly due to try scoring but they didn’t keep him, no one else made suitable offer for him in NRL so don’t see how he is currently a better option than Hodgson at f/b, Hunt or Tuala at wing along with a few younger players coming through, silly signing if it happens, more to the game than try scoring

Hopefully didn't dig to much into the cap. But we are losing Lee and Hoy

where do you get this idea from??? 3 years in the NRL with stats like:
2016 - 19 tries from 13 games with a win rate of 53.85%.
2017 - 9 tries from 16 games with a win rate of 68.75%.
2018 - 7 tries from 18 games with a win rate of 22.22%.

Honestly think that proves that he's a good finisher at NRL level if he's on the end of a quality backline.
I think with the role of wingers in the modern game you obviously need good finishes, but also good carries from the back. So having a bigger frame is better. But he would be good under the high ball.

Jaron Purcell is back from injury in Flegg this week.
I think he made our 21 man squad for firstgrade a few times last year and his form in the early rounds for Flegg this year was outstanding, but I don't think he's played for about 10 weeks now. I don't know what his injury was, but if he comes back in the same form as he had earlier in the year, he'll have to be in the mix for one of those development spots.

Can't happen if you don't try. Pearce, Klemmer, Ponga were all pretty big names that we probably never thought we'd be a chance. Granted Munster would literally be the biggest name signing the club has ever made.
I wouldn't say we have no chance, I think he will hold off and try and get as much as he can to stay at the storm though.

Man, there really was a time where Luke Brooks looked like he was gonna be one of the best 7’s in the game hahaha. The skill on some of these assists to Teddy is just lovely. WTF happened my dude?

There's no reason Munster can't sign for the Knights. It's just a money thing. Offer him $1.5m a season, he'll come.

Just means we forfeit 300-400k for another position in the 13 to cover the extras paid to Munster. Based on how we're travelling without a gun half, I'd say that's the best of the options currently available to us.

If we get Munster. And get lucky with a junior or two on a cheap contract, we'll have covered for the overs we're paying. That's not a bad gamble to take all considered
