2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

One of the many serious risks with keeping a dead coach around for too long is they start to act their own short term interest, as opposed to those of the club and the team.

Signing Brooks is an example of that imo. A new coach wouldn't sign Brooks because he'd have a mandate to take the time necessary to recruit the right players to improve the medium and long term prospects of the club. AOB can hardly be trusted to do that.
 
Honestly the lack of genuine good halves is scary for the future of this sport...

Brooks and Moses are average but still a million times better than what we have.

But why sign a 7 you will NEVER win a comp with?

Brooks isn't going to win you a trophy

Yep. Too many athletes and not enough footy players.
