2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Article on Zammit moving on.
Parr said he wouldn't comment on employee relations, but the club will have a new focus on local recruitment and they are developing a new pathways structure.
Zammit didn't want to comment.
Article says Zammit had some time still on his contract.
Also says he won't be replaced soon, and any replacement will have a different role.

I said about a year ago that personally I didn’t think the guy was the best fit and how effective could he possibly be being based in Cairns and everyone had a go. 😂 His LinkedIn profile still had him in his cowboys garb at the time which was seen as clutching at straws on my behalf for some reason. You don’t show up for your job at McDonald’s in your KFC uniform, I thought it showed a lack of professionalism and even disinterest in an important role and it showed in the **** poor recruitment under his watch. The club has cut some dead wood today. 👏

Article that quotes Phil Gardner about junior rep teams making the finals this year being our future.
The reason I'm putting it in this thread is because he goes on to say that any replacement for Zammit will be based in Newcastle and will be going to work every day at the centre for excellence and working with these kids.

The photo attached to the article shows lower grade players Tom Cant (I assume to represent Flegg), Fletcher Sharpe, Myles Martin (Ball captain) Jayden Brailey (1st Grade capt), Connor Votano (Mathews capt), Sophie Croker (Tarsha Gale) and Jacinta Carter (NSW womens cup).

I think it is so important for someone in the club to have a real report with our juniors, to the point where if someone starts getting feelers from somewhere else, the club is most likely to hear about it and be in a position to counter it. That sound score like a management role then a scouting role to me, you still need boots on ground at junior carnivals and such.

Tyron Thompson
Leo’s brother has being spotted at knights training and In knights training kit!!!
But how did you know? Unless he was standing next to Leo, they are even more alike than the Saifiti's and I can't tell them apart unless they do their hair differently.

It would be dumb to give my sources away.

But he was at training today and in knights gear.
Whether he is doing a development/up skill experience or genuinely coming here for good time will tell.

Look he may just be here for a experience.
Beauden Barrert did the same with Storm last week.

I had some intel and I gave it out.
I might just shut my mouth from now and not tell anyone anything.

I can 100 percent tell you if you go to Knights HQ right now you will see Tyrone Thompson with his Brother
Nah keep it coming! Appreciate the insight. Tyrone might've just been here to see Leo train. Interesting that Tyrone plays hooker in rugby apparently. He'd be massive out of dummy half based on how big Leo is.

A Hooker in Union is basically just their third prop, a League Hookers equivalent would be a Union Scrum Half - both positions share the number 9.
