2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

To me tuala has been handy however no kick return meters it’s been a long time since we have had two wingers to get early meters I expect marzhew is they key buy to see how our back line can improve on this built powerfully line breaks will be welcome on both edges

If Ponga wants to be at his best he needs to be in a team that can create momentum and space. Unfortunately AOB has been utterly incompetent in these areas - can't control the ruck, can't create width or space with the ball and we don't have players who can create momentum and space with their carries, aside from Young.

Marzhew and Young will be instrumental for us this year. And we'll see our halves finding time and space more often

I think we would get more value by playing Frizell in the middle and playing off his quick play the balls ala Cotter/Murray.
Unfortunately our edge forward stocks are so dire I can’t see it happening :(
Yep, ideally Friz is now a middle but from lack of forward Thinking we can't play him there in 23.
Imo we should re-sign him on less to play in the middle for 24 & 25.

Firing Klemmer and extending a much worse frizz to play middle would be very on brand for the knights.

I'm sort of excited for the Dane gagai first grade fullback experience. It's not going to be boring, haha

I don't agree with letting Klemmer go.
But letting Friz go as well would be extremely silly we need some experience in the pack, and Friz's next contract would be reduced.

It looks as though our fullback with be Lachlan Miller.

Only if the sharks do us a favour and release him, which they might not.

Remember how we had signed Brooks, twice?

Croker looks like a skinny kid next to crossland of all people in those training pics.

I'd be more inclined to move Fitzgibbon to front row and play Hetherington in 2nd row

Fitzgibbon is too slow for 2nd row now, his lack mobility can be hidden in the middle where it gets found out out wide.

Hetherington is quicker and has more mobility, plus it should hopefully keep him on the field more and not getting suspended as much

Definitely big red flags for AOB when the likes of Watson and King left to further their game and in Watson’s case for less money
