Would be absolutely over the moon if Birdy was able to sign with the club, would become my favourite Knight instantly! :)

Don't know about our cap situation but Degois and Paterson who are on decent coin SHOULD free up some space aswell as hopefully getting rid of some of the deadwood. Would probably go close to having the best pack in the comp too with Birdy, Snowy and Costigan.

Edwards will have a place in the 17 though, no doubt.
 
Apparently Titans are set to announce a pretty big signing tomorrow. Rumours at the same time that they will be announcing Greg Bird won't be offered a deal for next year.

Cooper Cronk, Anthony Tupou and Lewis Brown all being mentioned as possible signings.

Tupou would be the most likely IMO

Don't they have a salary cap anymore?
 
Yeah they'd have to be pushing it you'd think with the signings of Myles, Champion, Douglas, Idris, Henry & the re-signings of Bailey, Campbell (admittedly wouldn't be on much but still) & now another big name signing. They'll be the new Rabbitohs just about. Scott Prince is getting on now too so they'll have to find a replacement for him soon. I can't see the Titans having much success in the next few years.
 
There is no way that they could re-sign Greg Bird, which is great because we might have a shot at him now. There is also a rumor that Bird will be joining us mid-season and it will be announced after SOO. But i highly doubt this, although it would be awesome.

Now that Cory and Beau have been released mid-season, I wouldn't be surprised if this does happen. It would all finally make sense why we were in such a hurry to get rid of them and not wait until the end of the season.:think:

No real announcements are made on Public holidays or Monday's for that matter. Tuesday and Thursdays seems to be the trend.

Where did you hear this Fungus?
 
Anthony Tupou to be released at the end of the Season. With the Sharks signing Jeff Robson, Issac De Gois, Sam Tagatese and Mark Taufau they are worried that there will be no room for him. Bigpond Sport.
 
Would love Tupou to come up to Newy, local boy & has hit some great form this season, obviously couldn't happen though due to the salary cap.

Since he was signed back in 2007 for 1.6 million or whatever it was he has done absolutely nothing. He used to play for NSW - he wouldn't make any other starting side anywhere. He is nothing more than a 100k player these days.
 
Ruined by Ricky Stuart forcing him to make 30+ tackles a game. He'd be a mateo type player if he was allowed to just attack and offload.
 
I rate him, would be a good addition to the Knights bench, if he's anywhere near that cheap i'd hope we even slightly consider him.
